I have an issue here. I know "back is best" but since Quinn taught herself to roll on her tummy a few weeks ago, on her tummy has turned into her favorite sleeping position. If she is tired enough to want to sleep she will immediately roll over, sometimes on her side, but usually all the way over. I've even found her face planted in the morning, which kind of scared me. She does nap a lot better now that she can get as comforatble as she wants, which is nice, I guess, and at least I'm there to make sure she's breathing okay, but what about the middle of the night? Are any of your babies not sleeping on their backs anymore?

Julius doesn't sleep on his back anymore, He's a side sleeper. I have caught him twice on his stomach, I used to flip him over on his back but then he usually woke up and started crying so now I just leave him. I saw a little move on babycenter.com about babies sleeping, SIDS and suffocation and it says always lay babies on back if they turn on their own then it's perfectly ok to leave them in whatever position they get comfy in. So I just let him sleep how he wants.

As long as they can roll its safe for them to be on their tummies. Mika never slept on his back.

Oh, good. Also, it's kind of cute to see her sleeping with her little baby butt in the air... I don't know how that one is comfy, but whatever.

Alayna never slept on her back, since the night we brought her home from the hospital she has slept on her tummy. It definitely was tough at first I was constantly freaking out and checking on her but she HATES being on her back and will wake up within 5 minutes if I put her down on her back. I figured as long as they can move their head around good then their fine.

I'm glad to see this discussion. Last night I FINALLY had max sleep in his crib. It was a long night. He naps in his crib but on his stomach. I was worried about putting him on his stomach and had him on his back and he was not happy.

Marshall used to nap only on his tummy. Then he got to where he would nap and sleep at night on his back. He's figured out how to roll onto his tummy though, he's only actually done it once because all the other times he gets almost there and gets stuck on his arm. So most of the time he sleeps turned over on his belly from his stomach down but his head and chest are toward the side, if that makes sense.
