So while I was pregnant I got some scars on my chin from breaking out. I bought Garnier Skin renew dark spot corrector and I called the ped to see if it is ok to use while breastfeeding and they said no based on the fact it had salicylic acid that it is not ok... umm I wash my face with salicylic acid twice a day for as long as I can remember, I had never been advised to change my face wash. Has anyone heard this before?

I know you're not supposed to use anything with salicylic acid when pregnant for sure, so I'm sort of not surprised to know that it carries over to BF.

Oops! I have never heard this and definitely used it in my face wash daily when I was bf'ing!

When I worked at Ulta we were taught by vendors that face wash and toner with Salicylic Acid were ok to be used 1 or 2 a day for pregnant and breastfeeding women, but products that needed to stay on the face longer like peels and masks were a no no, because they have enough time to absorb into the blood stream.
