I've had mine for about a year and a half. It's the purple DC14 (I believe)...the animal. I love it because you never really have to replace the filter (just wash/dry every six months) and the canister is SO easy to clean out. My carpets are noticably cleaner. With four kids and three that spend a considerable amount of time playing on the floor...that's important to me. I love the idea of the new slim/compact Dyson ball, but I don't see mine breaking anytime soon. Well, maybe it will if Evan keeps pulling it over.

Deanna...we had the Rainbow when I was a teenager. It was a pain dragging it around, but it did do a good job. Also, the water had to be dumped out asap...OMG the smell if you don't. My mom use to add scented oils to the water and it made the house smell really good.

Rebecca....David and I thought about getting a Roomba, but quickly decided against it. Our kids are nutso and I can just see them trying to take it for a ride. I bet it is so nice to have one less thing to do.
