He's going for training from the end of August until the end of September, and is going to miss her birthday by a week or two! I don't know if we're just going to go ahead and have a small party without him (my mom, neighborhood friends, etc.), or delay her birthday by a couple of weeks so he could be there. We were initially planning on going with him to the training, but I'm only just starting the Johns Hopkins internship, I really don't want to take 5 weeks off a month after I begin, you know? Not very professional.

What would you guys do? Would you just push her birthday back by a few weeks or go ahead with the party anyway?

Well, have you asked him what he might want. If he wants to be there then push it back but if hes okay not being there then go ahead and do it.

I personally would just wait if its only a couple of weeks she wont really notice the difference now.

i would wait she won't know the difference and I'm sure it will mean a lot having her daddy there to celebrate with her. Maybe on her real birthday you can give her a little cupcake or do something special just the two of you and then have her party once he gets back.

I agree with the other girls too. I'd just wait. Sorry he's gonna be gone so long. That's no fun.
