So, I've been trying to do the Love Dare, you know, the book that is referenced in the movie Fireproof.... but I'm having a hard time with the first day... not a good sign. On the first day, you aren't supposed to say anything mean or negative or sarcastic to your DH. I've been trying for days to get through this, but DH just keeps pushing my buttons. At one point, I even turned to him and asked why he made it so hard to be nice to him. Well, it's now 10:16am and I am going to have to start it over again. I know this is something I need to change in myself, but come on... it's a "40" day process and I've been trying to complete the first dare for 5 days... at this rate, the kids will be graduating from college before I'm finished! Did I mention the second dare is the same as the first... ugh!!!

Love dare is something I wanted to do. The movie was so cheesy, but it was nice to see a relationship is such shambles come back to love. A lot of those dares looked hard lol... especially the first one. Like he said in the movie... it is going to be hard, but just keep it up! Goodluck! you are doing a great thing.

I knew it was going to be hard, but it makes me wonder what the status of our marriage really is... not that we're in bad shape, but if I can't keep from being snarky and he can't keep from pushing my buttons, is that a good thing? I really want to get to day three... even though you're supposed to keep up with the no mean talk throughout the whole thing, eventually you'll stop feeling the need to be that way... I'll keep trying... again... tomorrow... he's asleep for the rest of the day, so yeah.
