Did you buy their stuff yet? What kinds of things are they getting? Do they have a special basket they use every year?
I just bought the kids' stuff over the weekend. I've been wanting to get them nice baskets with monogrammed liners, but they are just too expensive and we have too many other things going on right now. I did find them some nice brown baskets at Walmart and I plan to find the liners maybe next year.
I didn't do much candy, just a little thing of jelly beans, MMs and hershey kisses. I got him some small toys, too - a puzzle, Eric Carle game, Color Wonder markers, Joker for his Imaginext Bat Cave, baseball glove / ball, Diego straw sipper and some Wubbzy stackers. Oh and I bought him Pinnochio, too. Emelyn is getting one of thsoe Fisher Price Laugh and Learn puppies, sippy cup, another small toy, vibrating teether and a couple of books I've got pink grass and pink cellophane for her basket and blue for Hayden. I've already put them together because we're going to Chattanooga with the family and we'll just pack them in black garbage bags so the kids don't see them
Well the baskets are still packed away somewhere so I bought them new ones (since I am at the rents) Emmett chose Spiderman and Elle chose Princess.
Easter is going to be low key this year, I got eggs for the hunt and to fill them I got eggies, foil wrapped winnie the pooh and foil wrapped princess chocolates. Two larger sized hollow chocolates and Bolt and Thumbelina movies.
I have baskets from Lillian Vernon with their names on them.
I have the fox & the hound 2 for Davey, it's in my glove compartment at the moment. He's been asking for it from the Easter bunny, so I had to get it. Otherwise, maybe a few small toys, some candy, etc. The usual stuff.
We our doing colored real eggs, plastic eggs filled with candy and other edible items in their Easter baskets. I might get a few small, inexpensive toy items but we didn't really want Easter to get too Christmas-like, with buying a bunch of presents and all. They both got new outfits too so I think that is good enough.
Spencer is getting a pair of crocs, some playdoh filled easter eggs, a chocolate bunny, a frosted sugar cookie, I also got him his first set of color wonders paints and paper. I think I might also give him one of the vsmile games I found on clearance. Oh yeah and he is getting Kung Fu Panda DVD.
Allie is getting a summer dress and a matching pair of crocs, some playdoh filled easter eggs, some dangle bracelets, a chocolate bunny, a frosted sugar cookie, Over the Hedge DVD. I might have forgotten one or two tiny little things but that is just about it.
We have 2 nice baskets that I bought them last year. I want to use them every year for them.
I just finished buying all their basket stuff this past weekend. It's all little things. I have a tendency to get carried away, but now that I have two to buy for, that urge to splurge is reined in a good bit. Madeleine is getting a few DVDs (Eloise in Springtime, Wubbzy's Pirate Adventure, and a Blues Room one), some mickey mouse dominoes, some eggs filled with Ponies, two books, and a couple of other small things I can't remember. I guess I need to get her a couple of edible items as well. Sam is getting a pair of Robeez, some links, a stuffed toy, a cuddle blanket thing, 2 books, and a glow seahorse.
We don't do gifts for Easter, just the egg hunt. We re-use the baskets every year unless they break, and we re-use the re-fillable plastic eggs too. So the easter bunny just has to get to the bulk barn and buy some mini marshmallows, M&M's, raisins, and maybe some peanuts to fill the eggs with.
I just buy the boys WalMart baskets....One because they don't have a lot of candy in them...two because I don't have time right now to create them myself...and three because the boy baskets have some really cool stuff...
The ones I got Ernest has two balls (basketball and soccer ball), the one for Robert has a bunch of army related stuff with cars and figures.
I don't have anything to put in their baskets.. just candy to fill the eggs so far. I might get them some small things each... I just need to get to the store before Easter LOL. Maybe some bows for Claire.. LOL. And a movie and something else for Mase.
You know what I just learned today? That Canadians celebrate Easter Monday as well!
