I haven't had time to update all of you, but JR broke his leg. Actually he fractured his Tibia (the big bone in the lower leg)
He was in the playpen playing with Johnathan. Nothing new he climbs in and out all the time. While I walked in another room he climbed up on the top (like a wrestler climbing on the top ring!) and JUMPED. Sara told me what happened. He landed on a leggo. He screamed and cried saying his toe hurt. It was time to eat (I had wakled to the door to yell at my Dh when he jumped off!) I sat him a the table, he stopped crying, I put an ice pack on his toe. He then went to bed and slept all night! It never turned blue or swelled at all! The next day he wouldn't walk on it. When he would put his foot down he would jolt in pain! So I took him to the Pediatrician, he sent us to imagining at the hospital. They x-rayed it and said he must have sprained it. If it's not better in a couple of days call the ped. back. That was on Thursday! Monday he STILL wouldn't walk! So I called the ped. He made us an appointment with an orthopedist for the following Thursday. The orthopedist took one look at it and knew it was fractured. He took x-rays and sure enough it was!!! He put a cast on it!!!!! JR got to pick out what color cast he got. Of course he wanted PINK! He said "Pink momma! I see pink! I want PINK momma!" We persueded him to get a blue one instead! He is hilarious! He is up RUNNING on that cast, like nothing is wrong! I have even sent him back to pre-school! I am amazed how tough he is! If I broke my leg, I'd STILL be crying about it. Bad thing is he doesn't want to take his "blue boot" off! He says it is pretty!
awww poor little man! I bet it looks pitiful seeing your 2 year old walking around in a cast. awwww That is SO funny he wanted pink though.. Maddie all the time wants blue crayons, blue blue blue.. I keep telling her she's a girl - she's supposed to want pink. Her valentine for her daddy and she wanted to do BLUE fingerpaints.. but I convinced her to let Brody use the blue and her use pink.
I hope he continues to feel well and recover quickly (he sounds like he's doing alright!!!) Poor man though.. I just bet it looks so pitiful seeing a little 2 year old full of energy walking around in a little cast. aww
Oh Happy Valentines Day to you too (knock two posts out at once. heh)
Wow its amazing the amount of pain little people can take huh?? When my cousin was 5 she broke her collarbone, and they didn't discover it until almost a week later, AFTER she had been in my moms wedding in this huge dress!! Poor thing! I hope the little guy feels better soon, and I think it is a riot that he wanted Pink!! Gabby wanted boy Scooby Doo for her birthday this year... I gave in and let her have it... oh well, they know what they like!!!
Thanks girls. JR is really doing great! He amazes me everyday (My other two kids do to!) This morning I told him "One more week and we can go to the Dr. and get your cast off! Yay!!!!" He said "no momma...." he paused thinking "No, I leave it on. I like my blue boot on. I keep it." So, oh great now he don't WANT to get it off! (He only had to wear it 3 weeks, thank goodness!) He'll probably cry when they take it off b/c he thinks it is pretty neat!
