jason's been at his current job for about 3.5yrs and is unhappy for a variety of reasons (the two most being one that he's never been given a raise although he's been promised one repeatedly and the other is that he was given a promotion in october and has taken all the responsiblities but they have never offically made the title change). anyway, he's made a bunch of great networking connections from this job and gotten a bunch of certifications (plus finished his bachelor's degree) while there so it hasn't been a total waste but he's ready to move on. so a few weeks ago, out of the blue, a guy that he knows thru work (doesn't work for his company, another one) told him he really wanted him to come work with him. this kinda snowballed and now he's had several people interested in him and has had a few interviews (telephone and in person) and *supposedly* he has the one particular job in the bag. they had to publicly post the job, etc, and then it will take a few days to see if he actually gets the offer he's been told is coming. plus he still has another interview next week for another company. it's soooo exciting and could be really great for our family. he stands to make close to double what he's making now and it could really change our lives! please say a little prayer for him (and us) that he gets a job offer and it's something he's happy doing. it would be a job change for him but i think it would be something that he's good at doing if given the chance. thanks!

Done... we're going through something similar, though it would mean a pay cut, but DH would switch to days and we would have more time as a family... I know how stressful the waiting game can be! Have faith... it will work out exactly the way it should!

thanks, girls. sarah, i'll keep you guys in my prayers as well. i've been sooo stressed about this and i know jason has too. although, for us, it would probably mean he'd be travelling a couple of times a month. we've decided, if given the opportunity, to try it out and see how or if it works for our family. good luck to you guys!

Good luck! I'll keep you guys in my thoughts That's really exciting that he'll get a better salary! Traveling isn't always that bad either.

We're in the same boat sort of, DH has put in a bunch of applications b/c he's getting out of the military in a few months, both federal and contracting, and we're waiting to hear back. One company sent him an e-mail asking to take him on, so he sent his consent to start salary negotiations and we're waiting to hear back. I feel like we're in such limbo, because we're going to be needing to move around April off base, but we can't even start looking b/c we don't know where he'll be working, or what his salary will be, or if I got into the master's program. Gah. Sorry, /end rant. I hate not knowing things lol

Keep us updated!

travelling isn't horrible you get used to it after a little while still sucks but pay increase would at least make it a little worth it

yay! so, jason got the job! he was told a few weeks ago that the position was his but that before they could formally offer the position they had to get all these approvals, etc. he FINALLY got the letter on thursday, they want to know if he accepts (he will) tomorrow. he told his current boss about the letter and they offered him a $15K a year raise with other perks, but he's decided to try this new one out. it's a lot more money than he's making now, nearly twice as much, but he will be traveling...we'll see how it goes for us. i'm really excited for him and nervous too. i really hope he likes it and it isn't too much of a sacrifice of our family time together. he will be going all over the country thanks for all your positive thinking!!! he starts on march 15th!

Oh Lisa, I'm so HAPPY for you guys!!!!! And PSSSHT at them offering him a raise now. Come on, people! If they'd done it in the first place, he wouldn't have had to look elsewhere. Neener neener to them.

And you know, if Jason ends up traveling to where any of us are, you'll just have to come with him! LOL
