Where did you go to college? How many places did you apply to? Did you enjoy it or do you wish you had gone somewhere else?

I went to a community college when I was just out of high school....Isothermal Community College. I would go for a few semesters then stop. I never finished which is typical Carla. I would love to go to Collin Community College here and retake some of my office systems and accounting classes. I love my job and I make decent money without a degree at Whole Foods but I would love to do it for myself.

I only applied to one school and that is where I went. Arkansas State University. Actually I take that back, I did do one summer session at Phillips County Community College (which wasn't actually in Phillips county ) I went to ASU for 5 years. Still didn't graduate I did everything except for my student teaching and at the time they wouldn't let you work while you were doing that. I had bills to pay, along with the fact that I was putting myself through college, so there was NO WAY I could have gotten by without working at that point So I dropped out. I do regret it and wish I could finish my degree. BUT at this point unless I'm actually going to take a job as a teacher, I don't see the point in spending anouther 8K just to get a degree that I won't be using Maybe when Allie starts school I might go back just to get some sort of degree (even if it isn't what I started out attempting to get).

And to answer you last question...I LOVED it!!! Seriously the best time of my life!!!! I wouldn't have chosen any other college even if given the chance.

Right out of high school I went to the community college near my house (Union County College), and I HATED it. It was just like, 13th grade lol Everyone from my HS went there. I had been accepted to U of NC Chapel Hill, but I couldn't afford to go, so I had to go to community and work while I went. Ended up dropping out. Then, DH and I went to U of Alaska Anchorage on scholarship right after we got married, but he joined the military and I got pregnant, so I only went for a couple of semesters.

Finally got around to going back to school (in an entirely different field - I was a Russian major at my other two schools), and now I attend the U of Maryland where I'm getting a bachelor's of science in May in psych/bio. I just applied to Johns Hopkins for a master's program in gov't/intelligence studies. I'm also trying to find a stupid freaking job while I go to grad. school, but it's hard b/c a job in intelligence/gov't would be ideal, but since I don't have experience yet it's hard to get those jobs. I could easily get a job in a research lab., but that's not very helpful to my career goal lol

Amy, they didn't allow us to work while student teaching either. Do they allow it now, do you know?

I went to University of Georgia. Loved it. I applied to one other school and was accepted with a full scholarship. It was an all-girls private school called Brenau University. I decided not to go because it was small, and I didn't think I could stomach being around only girls for 24/7. LOL

I really wanted to go to NYU at the time for dance, but there's no way I would have been able to afford it... assuming I could have even gotten in. It just wasn't feasible. It worked out though. I'm happy with where I did go.

i forgot to say i hated the all girls school, thats why i left. I thought i would love it bc it was so small like my high school was, but it was horrible. All of the girls had extremely different views than i did, there was like no one in the middle like me lol

i only applied to and went to the university of texas at san antonio. i graduated in 1999 with a BBA (bachelors of business admin). it was okay. i lived at home the whole time and my parents paid for all of it. i made some great friends and stuff and i still keep in contact with some of them. i think if i'd gone away to school i wouldn't have done as well. it's gotten bigger since i left, i think they have like 25,000 students now.

Crystal...not sure if they "allow" you to work while student teaching now, but I've known a couple people that did work, and just didn't let the school know about it. If I hadn't worked somewhere so public (in a clothing store in the mall) at the time I might could have gotten away with it. Oh well.

I just went to the business college here to take the Travel and Tourism course. After the course I did some on-the-job training at an agency who just happened to be hiring a couple weeks later on so I got a shot and it worked out. Very lucky for me, because I'm HORRIBLE with interviews. I'm still with the same company, 7 years later.
