Does your dc understand this word? Whenever Stephen and I say it to him when he is doing/touching something he isn't supposed to, we say No, don't touch or No, stop doing that or just No. He just looks at us and laughs and keeps doing it. I can say No a thousand times and he just doesn't care. I don't know if he understands and just doesn't care or just doesn't understand.

I think Nicole understands but chooses not to ! My mom has actually been encouraging me to explain why I'm saying NO to her... even though she doesn't understand now she will understand later why I am saying NO.

My son Denver I'm sure knows what the word means & just chooses to ignore! A couple of months ago I'd say "NO" but all he would do is turn around, look me in the eye & with his finger raised at me loudly say"NO" back! So I'm sure he understands he's just too stubborn or stupid ... not sure which!!

We try to explain it too, but I think he just chooses not to care!

Brinlee knew the word "NO" the best at about 9 months... now she chooses when she wants to listen to me or not. I say she has "selective hearing" LOL. I know she knows what NO means (that was a mouth full!). Sometimes she ignores it, other times I can barely get the word out of my mouth before she starts crying.

Honestly I wouldn't worry about it to much right now. They are to young to listen to the word no. You can say it all you want, and sometimes they will listen, and other times they might not. I think that's because they don't 'fully' understand what no means.

It's about 50/50 with Karlee too. I think it has more to do with her mood at the time. I think that she knows what I mean, but just chooses to ignore it part of the time. I also find that if I get down eye to eye with her and say it in a firm voice that I have better results.

Mason definitely knows what it means.. but it's like he's desensitized to it b/c I say it so often. He used to react to it, now he usually ignores me!

Same exact thing here! "no" is the funniest word in the world to her right now! LOL
I don't care, she'll get it eventually. They're still learning, I just remove her from the situation after I say no and she laughs.

Olivia listens better to "touche pas" (don't touch in French). I'm not French but saying no all the time has just gotten old to her. When I say touche pas, she listens to me, knows that I mean DON'T TOUCH!!!
I still say no and it's 50/50 if she'll listen.

Maybe I should say something in a different language or change it up then he might listen. Eventually he'll get it!
