We don't really have any gates. Evan keeps going up the big stairs. I am worried he is going to fall down them and hurt himself. This morning I put the pack n play in front of the bottom of the stairs. He was quickly pushing it out of the way. Then I put the brakes on it and the heavy wood magazine rack, full of magazines on the other side of it so it could not be moved. He has been pushing, pushing away at it again. I am going to have to figure something else out it looks like.

walmart has cheap gates for like 10 bucks.. i don' t know if they will fit in that particular spot, but its worth looking into!

at our new place we are going to be going to we have stairs.. scares me cause mason is so quick at getting up them. hes good about climbing and not falling.. hes tumbled back before at my moms but there were only like 2 steps and i was standing right there...

good luck! hope you find something that works!

Evan has tumbled down the lower flight of stairs twice now. Head over heels. He was fine, but it looked so scary. It has 4steps and then the landing on top of all that.

Sounds like you've got a little monkey on your hands.

The spacing here is a little tricky. Not sure how a gate would work on these particular stairs. I would have to put the gate part way up the stairs and try to work it around the hand rail also, because there is no wall on one side of the stairs along the bottom few steps.

I'm so glad we don't have stairs- I would be a nervous wreck! Mason likes to climb up the gate we have and hang off of it like a monkey.

Once Ryan started trying to climb stairs we taught him how to turn around and put his feet first to come back down. Of course I would never let him attempt this on his own, because accidents happen too fast...but he goes up and down the stairs himself quite often with us following behind him. He does the same on the couches now too. I got gates at walmart too..like 9.88 or something.

Evan knows how to go back down, but sometimes he makes mistakes or leans over the top stair to look down and opps.
