I love meeting author/illustrators. We had Mark Teague sign some books recently. I love his illustrations, but I think Munsch is much more well-known.
Robert Munsch was here at the library, he read to the kids and did a book signing, we had 3 books signed (and had to wait 1 hour and 20 mins) but it was worth it! It was free to go to as well.

Happy Birthday Megan and Marcie!

I heard an update yesterday about Sebastien and his upcoming appts. He will be seen in the pediatric neurology department in the fall, he is on the wait list, the first ones on this list will get September appts and he "may not get a Sept appt", so he should be seen by October. He will have (another - he had one last fall) EEG and will see the neurologist. We also have an update on the allergy appt, "he will be seen within 4 months of May 31, 2010". I am glad we have that finally, we have been on that list since April 22, 2009, however, that said, they do not test for allergies before the age of 2. The specialist we are seeing is apparently the best in the province if not all of western Canada and they tell me he is best to not be tested before the age of 2 as it is a waste of time and inaccurate.

Brandy, the link didn't work, and I tried to find it threw your profile and couldn't.

Megan, Glad you had good weather for the Zoo, I talked to my mom (she lives in Brookfield) and she said it was clear over there too. That's a long way to go for a field trip, especially with the I290 construction.

I actually got quite a bit done today. I so just want my house clean and organized. It's so slow going. But if Curt would just help me for a few hours, I could get it all done, and then it wouldn't be a problem to keep it up, it's just never been all clean at once.

Hi ladies! I'm so sorry I've been soooooo MIA. I feel HORRIBLE about it! I really want to get back in here and post some more. I had several posts typed out, one on each different visit here, and for some reason they never went through. So I'm hoping this one is different. It could be something to do with using a different computer. Grace broke the laptop screen, so I had to use the old, POS computer for a while, until Dickie fixed the laptop.
I hope everyone's doing well! I haven't even gotten in here for a few days to check up on other posts. I'm going to do that right now!

Happy Birthday Megan and Marcie! Hope you both had a fab day!!

Marie, what a huge bummer about your computer, I really don't know how I would live without mine. Boo.

Willow, Riley does that with his glasses too - they are a little big and slide down his nose and he looks over the top. I am forever telling him to push them up. He looks like an old man! We've been patching for a couple of weeks now. He's actually doing well - better than I expected. I have a fabric patch and some adhesive ones and I let him choose what he wants. So far so good. I am paying $1 each for the sticky ones tho so I really need to find a cheaper option.

Brad has a new job - in an office - so we will hopefully be able to skype more often. Which will be great cos Riley doesn't really like talking with him on the phone which was getting Brad down. They talk much better when Riley can see him. I called the airline last night and finalised my return tickets. Eeeeek. It makes it really real. I'll have to update you all on everything in a separate thread.

2 days till we leave for Aussie!

TGIF!!!!!!

I am sooo done with waking up at 5:30 am! 3 more days (including today) of school for Keily- woo hoo!!!!

Thanks for the birthday wishses, girls! I had a nice day (although the dog peed three times on my floor and Hope and Jude didn't behave too well). I took Hope for a surprise (see thread) and we had Hope's preschool grad. (even though I am holding her back). Chris didn't get home until after 10:00 last night, so we are celebrating tonight with Marcie!

Deanna- Our bus driver (for the field trip) took a different way. It was still a little over an hour. I took Aleve before the trip so my head wouldn't hurt being on that bouncy bus for so long.

This thread has been quiet! Where is everyone?

Today Kiera missed the bus and I didn't have to take Julius to Premier Pas because it is IPP day so no class. I am tired of driving her all the time cause she misses the bus so she can wait. That seems to be backfiring as she is playing with her brothers. Ugh!
This afternoon Julius has preschool and I have his IPP meeting. I don't think his teacher likes me anymore because I had a huge issue with a violation of confidentiality (that she did) last week and brought it to the attention of the school principal and the teacher had "severe consequences", so this afternoon meeting I am not looking forward to.
Tonight we are going do more gardening and hopefully get in a bike ride (Kirk and I possibly on our own). I need to lose weight in a bad way. I have gained again, I would ideally lose 70 lbs, but with 60 lost I can be ok too.

Sounds busy Brandy. Confidentiality is an important issue, and if she didn't follow protocol than shame on her! We have very strict guidelines about what we can say and can't say about our students to others.

It sounds like many of you have started your summer vacations. How is everything going?

Today is my husband's last day with kids (he has two workshop days Mon. and Tues., but he is mostly done). TJ and I each have one more week of school.

I am having field day at my school, but I don't think I will participate because at the end of the year we put every book in our library in order, and it is a massive job. So the para I work with and I are in the thick of doing that. I will be rushing to TJ's school at noon to try to make the last 45 minutes of his annual preK picnic. My MIL and FIL are going with Michael so that he has family there. It starts at 10:45, and I will be at work. Wish I could go to the whole thing.

Tony and I will be participating in our second Farmer's market today. Last week was a bust because the market chairperson didn't bring any signs, so nobody stopped... Hopefully this week goes better. We will bring eggs, rhubarb, some strawberries, oregano, fresh peppermint, and catnip. What do you think?

We had to meet with a guy from the dept. of Agriculture this week because we have to take WIC vouchers at this market. He had to train us in the protocol. I think it is awesome that our state gives WIC clients vouchers for veggies and fruit at a Farmer's Market.

Anyway, it will be a busy day. I need to get off my tush and into the shower. Have a fantastic Friday ladies. Thinking of you all today.

The farmer's market sounds fantastic, Willow!!! I hope it goes well and there are plenty of signs this time! Let us know how it goes. You guys go pretty late huh? When do you start next year?

Brandy- holy busy!

We've spent the last couple of days at our neighborhood pool.... aaahhh, summer is finally here! Hope started her new gymnastics class. Two hours on Tues. and two hours on Thurs. Her listening skills could be better, but she likes it! She does summersaults and handstands when she should be watching what to do next... ugh!

Joining in in the middle.

Hard to believe that June is almost half way through. We had my eight people from Lyndon's side of the family in at the beginning of the month (in a rental - not all staying at our place!), but since they left, our June has been pretty laid back. Looking forward to late July when we leave for our PA trip, but not a lot going on until then!

Hiya ladies. Man, this thread did get pushed down, didn't it? We need to get it up and going again!

I took Lucas to Water Country today. I hadn't been since highschool-can you say loooooooooong time ago?! It was Lucas' first time-obviously. He had a BLAST! We went with our next door neighbor and her boys. It was a great time. I got a little sunburned on my back since I couldn't really get the sunscreen on it. But, man was it a beautiful day to go!!!!

We havea pretty quiet June here. I am happy for that!!!!

Ugh

Tuesday night Sebastien fell and smacked his head on the cabinet and needed glue to put it back together. He is ok, didn't have a concussion.
Thursday night Addison sprained his ankle "severely" at Judo and is on crutches and have an aircast.

Ugh!

I am so happy this week is over, or almost. Gretchen didn't have school and I was trying to get keep the house clean, and start doing some projects for me. I have a baby blanket I need to make and I am going to try turning a ripped pair of jean into a jean skirt.

We also have had dance stuff this week. Wednesday was picture day, today was rehearsal and tomorrow is the recital. She looks like a little doll when her hair and make up are done. And to top it all off, after spending over $250 this year on dance (classes, costume, and tickets) the neighbor came over and got Gretchen to come play w/ her granddaughter, who I find out later that day after they had been playing for a while, that the little girl was sick w/ a fever. I just pray she gets through tomorrow before getting sick.

Hooray for Summer!!

and Happy Monday!

I am thrilled to say I am a sahm mom now until the end of August. Everyone in my house is on Summer vacation too. I got a contract (finally) for the next school year, and I will be working the same hours. 9-11:48 every morning. What an awesome job. I am sooo thankful. I will work with 3rd and 4th graders again, which is great, and it looks like I will still take a class in the computer lab (which I love). So all is good.

This week I plan on visiting an old friend (college roommate) in MA to see her and her new baby boy. I can't wait! I love holding babies. I am sure it will make my baby fever even worse. This is the month where Tony and I really need to decide if we are done with babies...if we were to try this month, my due date would be March 26th, which would be perfect for my job. 12 weeks out and then summer vacation, back to work when baby is 5 1/2 months... dreaming here.

I figured out how to Skype last night.

Any one want to chat with me sometime? What an awesome thing. I would love to "meet" some of you, since it doesn't look like it will happen in real-life.

What is new everyone? Sorry I have been so MIA. I hope to be around a little more now.

That's Great about your job Willow.
You need to have another baby...GO FOR IT!!

My summer has been a little crazy, but not super busy so far. Gretchen did get sick on Saturday but it was after the recital. Then Phoebe got it. It was hand mouth foot, so Gretchen missed her first day of summer school. But it's great, she was assigned to her teacher's class, although I think it would have been cool for her to have a different teacher, she is with some older kids and is actually learning some new skills vs, just review to prevent regression. I feel bad, I have her taking the bus, and since she is the third to be picked up, she has a 45 minute bus ride each way. I asked her if she wanted me to drive her, and she said no.

Phoebe is at the best age, she's starting to talk a bit, and she's getting into everything. But she loves music and if I want to get something done, I pop in Mary Poppins and it keeps her busy at least for a bit. Oh and she is giving hugs and kisses.

Willow- that is so awesome about your job!! I bet it makes your summer even better!

I hope you and Tony are both happy about the decision you make! You are such an amazing mom.... I can so see you with another one, but I know you both need to be content with it. Good Luck!!

Deanna- that is great that Gretchen wants to ride the bus! I'm sure it's fun for her.

We had a nice Father's Day and are ready to get back into our summer routine. Going to the pool, hanging out and just having fun... of course with all the sports mixed in! Keily had an awesome play at her game Sat. She made a double play!! Of course I was walking Hope to the bathroom and only saw the second half of the play... but I did see everyone (coaches and teammates) run out onto the field cheering for her and hugging her! All the parents in the stands standing up and yelling! What FUN!

There is a chance for storms everyday for a few days, so hopefully we will get the pool! Boy, the storms Friday were something else!!!

Oh No Deanna!!!!! I'm glad you finally have power! Looks like the next couple days (starting tonight) could be bad......

We had so much fun last night. We cooked hot dogs over the fire and Marcie and I chatted while the kids ran around and caught lightening bugs. Noah and Abby slept over.... that is what summer is all about!!!

Deanna, how are the girls now? Are they 100% again? We had hand, foot and mouth here in Sept. TJ had the worst of it. I thought Michael might have been spared a bit because he was nursing.

Megan, the pool sounds lovely. I wish I could hang out with you and Marcie. It sounds like fun.

I took the boys strawberry picking this morning and now TJ is at his friend's house doing a slip and slide, and Michael is getting ready to go down for a nap. Tony is cutting wood today. As soon as Michael sleeps, I am cutting and freezing 9 lbs of strawberries!

The only issue with me and my husband both being home for the summer is that he is working his butt off, and I am watching the kids--I wish sometimes he would just tell me what he wants to do, and if I could do it, he could watch the kids. I can't cut wood though! LOL!

I finally watched Marley and Me the other night. I really liked it.

What is everyone up to today?
