I'm on week 4 of the couch 2 5k right now. So far, so good. I would love to do a 5k or a half marathon soon. I'm thinking about doing the Big D run in Dallas in the spring or even the 5k we have here in Allen in the fall. I am having a little trouble with my left knee and I'm concentrating on endurance over speed and that seems to help the shin splints...we shall see.
When I was 10 I did a 10K I would LOVE to get back into walking/running, I just really can't get out of the house with the kids Jay's hours suck, so by the time he gets home I can't go out either. I almost bought a treadmill last week at a yard sale, but Jay says we don't have room for it Maybe when the kids get a bit older I can walk up and down our street without the fear that our kids will burn the house down if I'm not watching their EVERY move!
I do a 5k every year in October for the "Run for the Cure", but I walk it. No running for me yet, I don't think my knees and shins can take it until I lose some more weight. Although I would like to try learning to jog if I could afford some good sneakers someday.
