I'm not saying you would forbid them if that was their dream, obviously, but are there any activities or extracurriculars that you secretly (or not so secretly) hope they don't gravitate toward? Not like drugs, or whatever, but actual activities.... soccer, ballet, chess, etc

Why?

She says she wants to be a cheerleader. I've told her several times....why cheer for the boys when you can play for yourself? I know...cheer sport...blah blah blah...

Hockey. It's huge up here since we live in the arctic but it's SO expensive and so rough. I do not want him to play.

Wrestling. I guess that's mostly for Sam. But it just looks painful and boring. Plus the way they micromanage weight just seems unhealthy to me.

Hockey for sure. I am with Maddie, it is SOOOO expensive and so rough. I know it's the Canadian sport, but I would rather NOT have him join in. We can't afford it anyway so he has no choice at the moment, but I dislike it!

Big fat ditto to this!!!
My nephew Nathan will definitely be getting into it though, they are huge sports fans and he's already skating really well at 3 years old. I hope it doesn't rub off on Tyler!
Of course they are hoping the opposite because Nate would get all Tyler's hand-me-down equipment when he grows out of it! lol

For Haley I really hope she doesn't want to get into cheerleading, but honestly I don't see that ever happening. She didn't enjoy dance class very much, and she's not the most co-ordinated child! lol
