Ack, sorry it's been so long! I've been lurking, but was too lazy to figure out my log-in info so I could post! This happens all the time! Hopefully I'll stay logged in this time. (Since I know I can't count on my preggo brain to remember my old log-in name and newish PW!)
I'm feeling okay. Still some m/s (mainly just nausea, but some puking at night), fatigue (I soooo don't believe in that mythical "burst of energy" some women claim to experience during the second trimester!), foot cramps (need.more.bananas.), etc. Nothing unbearable, though.
I'm stuck between regular clothes and maternity clothes right now. I haven't been fitting into most of my pants since about 7 wks. (That was when I popped a button off my pants at work... a pair of my "fat pants" nonetheless!) I've been wearing the same outfits over and over. I wish I would just pop a little more so I could wear maternity pants. I do have some "first trimester" pants that I wore with Thatcher, so I wear those a lot, but they're basically pants that just sit really low (below the belly)... which means I need a super-long shirt with it to avoid showing massive butt cleavage all day! (Btw, I'm sooo bummed Babystyle no longer exists!)
I think I was really bloated the first trimester, and now the bloating is subsiding, so my weight hasn't changed much the past few weeks. I gained 5 lbs between my 7 wk and 11 wk appt, though! That's way too much for the first trimester, lol! Perhaps it had something to do with the fast food I was eating every day...
I have a regular OB appt tomorrow, and an appt with a high-risk specialist (because of my heart issues) on Fri Aug 12. They'll be doing an u/s, so I'm expecting to find out the gender then! CAN'T WAIT!!! The only bummer is that Thatch will be out of town. I told him I could wait to find out the sex, but he thankfully said no, go ahead and find out. My parents will be in town, so my mom is going to come with me.
This pregnancy feels almost identical to my last one. I still don't have any intuition about the gender. I remember that this was about the point last time when I started to sense it was a boy. I keep hoping I'll get a feeling one way or the other, but nothing yet. I'll be equally happy with either, but am just so darn curious!
What about you guys? Carla, you must be really close! I see that you have a thread... I'm going to check that out next. And Karin, are you finding out the gender? I'm thinking you were on Team Yellow the first time???
Thatcher was 8 days late. I really wouldn't mind if this one was a bit late... the thought of a Nov birthday, then Christmas, then a January birthday... well, it would be nice to have them spaced out as much as possible! We're going to be pooooor! LOL.
Btw, we're in escrow on a house! It's the one with amazing views/decks that I posted pics of a few months ago on FB. We initially decided not to get it, but found that we couldn't stop thinking about it... and then they lowered the price by $50K... so we made a lowball offer just for the heck of it, and they accepted! If all goes well, we could be moving in about a month. Fingers crossed! (Although, I must admit I'm completely freaking out about the childproofing aspect of this house... tons of balconies... huge glass window/wall on the second floor... ugh, I'll save that for another thread, another time!)
