Well, today was meet the teacher day. School starts tomorrow. Samantha's teacher seems very nice. Sam looked so scared though when she met her. I think it was a bit overwhelming for her. She was really cold too since the school was cold, so she got cranky before we left. She saw her desk and her hook for her backpack. Her teacher had a scavenger hunt in the room and most of the places were forms for us to fill out or something for her to do for homework. She had an outline of a person at their desks for them to color while we looked through the folder we were to take home. When we went to a place on the scavenger hunt, she put a sticker on it and then before we left she gave her "something special." Her's was a bag of glittery things with a poem for us to read to her. She explained that what was in the bag was to go under her pillow tonight and it would help her get a very good night's sleep. I thought it was sweet. There are 11 boys in her class and 9 girls. There are 4 at her table. She sits by another girl and then there are two boys and her teacher actually sits with them too. She got three school t-shirts and I got a matching one. She wanted me to. They had breakfast and juice and coffee set up in the library. I almost cried once in her classroom. Her little name at the desk. Ugghhh....Her friend two houses down is in 1st grade and a couple of classes down in her hall, so they will get to see each other. We ran into our neighbor across the street and her boys on the way in. I can't believe that my baby starts school tomorrow and my older baby will start her senior year. I just want to cry!
somehow i missed this post earlier. it sounds like she has a really great teacher, chrisa. i'm sure she'll have a fantabulous year, and from your other post, it seems as though she loves school! it is so bittersweet, isn't it? our babies are so grown up already!
Oh my gosh, this is a little funny. I emailed her teacher end of last week to get a class list so I could do her party invitations since we are inviting the whole class this year. Never heard back. So today I told Chuck to try. He's been in contact with her by email already and got a quick response. So he emails her today and bam, response with the class list and everything. Geez, should I be worried? LOL She's married so I'm not, but it cracks us up that one email from him and she responds right away! Now, he's got a big head thinking he's hot stuff! LMBO
