Has your Nov. child had school pictures yet?

On average what does a typical package cost?

Will you order?

Our pictures are on Tuesday, and I am appalled at the price. A basic package starts around 30. and they go upwards of 80. I usually get the cheapest package and then add on 2 extra 5x7s for the grandparents.

All of mine had picture day already. The packages are always way too expensive for a cheesy pose/background. As always, I did not order. I can always get my MIL to take some pics. BTW, if you guys want "school type" pics...go to Penny's or Sears. You can always get a dirt cheap ($7-$10) package with WAY more pics and a preview of the shot before you order. I use to have moms bring their kids in all the time for basic school pictures.

I think it's in October-- i don't know the prices but I'm sure it's crazy. They had picture day at daycare too and it's ridiculous!

We'll be getting pix at JCPenney again this year like always. It's like $3.99/sheet or something.

It's next week. In the preschool years I only bought the cheapest package which was $8 and you got 4 3x5. I have no idea how much the elementary schools charge. But, what's new to me, is the spring pictures??? Why? And then they will also do class pictures. Lots of nickel and diming!

Even if the pix are bad (from kindergarten on) I feel like I have to buy the cheapest pkg. I have a pic from all of my school years--even the bad retakes. Anyone else feel that way, or am I being old school here? But I guess w/ pix being taken 3x a year, I don't need/want all those pictures????

Kaeli had her pics a couple weeks ago. The package I got was like $45 and it comes with a CD and $20 to use at snapfish. The company that does their pics has a billion backgrounds.....you know they do it all digitally and ad the background later.

OMG yes and I totally F'ed up! We forgot about it so I didn't take extra care with Nolan's hair. I sent Nolan to school in a logo shirt that day too We don't pay yet...when they come in the kids bring them home and if we like them we send money back, if we don't we send pictures back.

we got the pic pkg info today. I hate that you have to prepay before you even see the pix. THe cheapest pkg is $13.50--that's for 2-3x5 and 8 exchange photos. THe most expenisve pkg is $53. THey have tons of overpriced add-ons too.

Fall Picture Day is October 21st for Kira. (I'm assuming that means there is a Spring Picture Day, as well, and like MM, I don't get it. They did fall pictures and spring pictures at her pre-K last year, too, but since the spring pics were in the cap and gown for graduation, I didn't really object. But as an every year kind of thing...I don't get it.)

We haven't gotten pricing information yet, but we did get a flier saying that we don't have to pay for anything until the proofs are in. I am glad for that! Last year we had to pre-pay before picture day. Luckily, Kira's pictures turned out great in both fall and spring, but I hate having to pay for any service before the service is rendered. It's just not the way I roll. B)

Depending on what packages are offered, I'll probably go for something around the cheapest. I need at least 4 wallets, and maybe a 5x7 to display. Anything else would just allow me to send copies to the aunties.

Karin - we have both spring and fall picture days as well. The fall is always a pre-pay deal, but spring they send home premade packages. You are suppose to keep/pay for what you like and send the rest back to school. I scan it all and send it back...lol. I always purchase the class picture (approx. $10).

Amber's school pictures are today! Individual pictures cost around $6/sheet. A disc with ALL the pictures on it is about $15. Packages start around $35 and go upwards of around $100. We'll do the disc and get pictures printed off at Wal Mart or something like last year.
