Do you use white lights or colors? Do you make it all matchy or do you do handmade stuff? How do you decorate your tree? Do you wish you had different decorations? What would you want?

Since having kids, we use all mis-matched, cute ornaments. We used to use all balls on the tree in matching colors.

I prefer white lights but we got some colored ones on freecycle this year so we're going to use those.

I prefer white but I have multicolor for Lauren. I like gold and red so we have gold garland, red and gold bows, red and gold balls and red and gold glitter snow flakes..lol! We also have assorted keepsake ornaments and handmade stuff. This year we bought Lauren a purple glitter star because purple is her favorite color.

white lights...we have all different ornaments, bows and ribbon but they all match. For our big tree downstairs, its all red and green. For our reg sized tree upstairs it used to be burgundy and gold but this year I did it in purple and silver to match the other decor of the room. DH is VERY VERY uppity about his trees. Wont let the kids TOUCH them or, god forbid, put a handmade ornament on them.

Well, before the Pie was old enough to make or want ornaments, our tree was all matchy - white lights, silver/red/clear ornaments. Now it's rainbow lights and a mismash of handmade ornaments, ornaments given to us by other people, funny ornaments (DH and I like our Bush ornament, it says "Miss Me Now?" lol), and now this year some cool Russian ornaments (like the bucket I posted on FB hehe).

We compromised on the lights outside. I like white, but DH likes multi, so we did both!

We have white lights, silver balls and all different ornaments.

Mark wants to put little candy canes on the tree because that's what his mother always did (and still does). I hate this, it will really annoy me if he actually puts some up. I don't want candy on my tree!!

We always had white lights on the tree but then a year or so ago right before Christmas our lights blew out and we could not find white lights or even the multi coloured lights to save our life. We ended up getting two strands of green lights and were surprised by how much we actually liked it. The ornaments are eclectic too so it works.

I think seeing people's Christmas trees is so interesting. I love how they're all different and have different personalities just like the households. Ours is a mishmash. I try to be cool and have matchy things, but in the end it's just a bunch of different things from different places we've been. They sort of match in a nonmatchy way, I guess. We use whichever lights I find first that all work. lol
