We have just one dog right now. We got 2 dogs right after we got married, but our golden retriever died suddenly at 7 years old from a very aggressive cancer. Our miniature American Eskimo is the queen around here. She tolerates the kids, but she certainly doesn't like them, and she'll bite anyone else who comes over. She's extremely protective (as she was bred to be). We call her our "alert dog", because she hears everything and barks a lot. (Even though she's 10 years old and has cataracts, so she doesn't always know what she's barking at. LOL!)
We're planning to get a couple of puppies or 1 year old rescues in the near future, but we've only been in this house for 2 years and haven't put in a doggy door yet. The whole backside of the house is glass, so it'll cost about $1500 just to change up the way the doors fit to put in a normal door. Not in a hurry to do that!
We have a few. lol We have 30 chickens but they are meat birds so not pets.
We also have:
Jasper a 3.5 year rabbit
Dragon a 4 year old leopard gecko
Juno a 15 month old puggle
and then we rescued Ace and Dixie a pair of older guinea pigs that were at the feed store we ordered our chickens from. They had been dropped off and were in a filthy cage with overgrown nails. Ace is blind in one eye and Dixie had broken a bone that wasn't set properly so she has a hard time getting around.
