I finally hear back from Brandon's GI doctor about his ultrasound results on his kidneys. Finally, after two weeks of waiting but that's beside the point. The nurse said the doctor reviewed the results and said he was free of blockages and abnormalities BUT he still has too much acid in his blood so he will be put on a prescription to balance it out and we should, hopefully, see an improvement in his weight gain. They want the nephrologist to review it and be the one to make the script so we still have to wait until the 29th to (possibly) get the prescription. Of course I'll keep you posted. I'm hoping to see a change in him by his bday, but we'll see! Thanks for *listening*.
That's great news. I hope the meds do the trick. Did they think he would have to stay on it from now on? You know Brandon's going to be a linebacker someday....
How wonderful that he is free and clear! I hope that the medications work and that he gains weight, hopefully by his birthday. Oh, he sure is one handsome fella!
That is GREAT news!!! I am really happy you have some answers now! HUGS!!!!

As far as I've been told to this point, he'd only have to be on the meds until his kidneys get their act together and start doing what they should be doing, so he shouldn't be on it forever. I don't know if that many years or what but I plan on asking the dr once we finally get to see her.
LOL, the linebacker comment. You should see my BILs and my brother, none of them are small guys, so this is unusual for us! I really hope this does the trick.
How wonderful to hear that it may be as simple as a medication to help him. I can't imagine the fears of thinking something is physically "wrong" with your child. Hopefully it is an easy prescription fix!

That's so good to know! I'm sure you're not as worried about it anymore, and now you can just enjoy him being a baby without worrying about his health.
