I get so aggravated! I am now putting size 12 months on my daughter, and I just LOVE the long dresses. When I first buy them and let her wear them, they are so cute (I don't wash them first, I know you're supposed to, but I don't). Anyways, then the first time I wash them, they shrink like 2 inches!!!

I know it's something LITTLE to gripe about, but it really gets to me!

I had this with a pair of pants I bought for myself. They were 4 inches too long, so I hemmed them. They were perfect. I wore them once, washed them, and now they're 5 inches too short. I could wear them as capris, but they don't have the right cut.

I hate it! On the plus side, my girls are both in hand-me-down clothes, so they've all been washed NUMEROUS times. LOL

I know, I hate this too. I know it isn't the same for boys, but when your baby is tall (like mine is, probably because my hubby is over 6 feet), then when pants shrink they look funny on him!!!

do you wash in cold? that is ususaly the key culprit in shrinkage with washable fabrics. many times, espeically cotton, if you then hang the item up up side down it helps.

karin has a couple dresses that shrank after dad washed them that are a tad too short, but i bought some cute leggins to wear underneath. voila! it saved a little girl meltdown.

I always thought hot water is what made clothes shrink! I guess I could hanging them to dry, I just hate that it's not as soft as putting it in the dryer.

I have the same problem with Marshall's clothes. Because he is so tall, I hate to put anything in the dryer in case it shrinks, then he's got he-capris and my husband says no to them. LOL I usually end up putting my dryer on the "air dry" cycle and that helps with the shrinkage.
