I was thinking of getting a down comforter or some sort of really warm blanket for Davey. You all know the weird way our heater is, and the outer rooms get a bit chilly.

Anyone have any suggestions?

I have found the best ones are the fleece blankets. I'm allergic to down comforters so I would worry about putting a baby under one to sleep...might be more difficult to breathe if they get stuffy in the night. If he is wearing warm pajamas and a fleece blanket he should be able to stay warm and toasty. Or sometimes I even put 2 blankets in there...if it is real cold.

yeah I don't think I would trust down either, but I love it for me! hehe You can do one of those cute "no-sew" blankets for him, and that way would be special since you made it.. and warm because it's two sheets of fleece.

Yeah, I would think fuzzy pj's and a fleece blankie would be better than down. He might get too hot. But what do I know, I can't keep a blanket or a pair of socks on Lauren at night.

I am with the rest of the ladies...down might be too hot and not very breathable. I would go with a fleece blanket as well. Either that or a flannel blanket. You might even be able to get flannel sheets for his bed, those are so nice...I couldn't live without them. Aiden has 2 flannel crib sheets that we use a lot since it is cold here already. That with the fleece blanket and he is nice and warm.

I usually put Aiden in a fleece sleeper, those are really warm and then I don't have to worry about a blanket because he always puts them over his head and it freaks me out.

Yeah, Davey always wears fleece sleepers and has a fleece blanket and a quilt, but sometimes he still feels cold. His room has 2 walls to outside and the heater is in the kitchen.

I was already thinking of getting some flannel sheets for him, I saw some at LL Bean.

I worried about down too, we have one and it is so nice and warm, and they have some made for cribs, I didn't know if the ones made for cribs might be more breathable somehow.
