Hi ladies...We are settled in...Kids are in bed sleeping(thank God,Ryan seemed to WANT his bed). I was going to wait until morning to post because I am am so drained...but I know everyone has been worried.
I really love you ladies...you seriously dont have any idea how much it means to me to know how much you all care and love Ryan. Thank you for the prayers and thoughts of well wishes. EACH prayer was heard AND answered!
We were sent home because everything looks good. Ryan's lab work from Monday showed liver enzymes up and signs of immflammation...lab from last night showed everything to be perfectly NORMAL. This is what the doctor(s) say(rainbow is a university hospital-Ryan had lots of doctors)...he had what is called Intodisception(I know I screwed that sp up..but I havent a clue how to sp it)...from what they say it is a normal thing that kids this age can get. It causes vomiting, high fever,swelling(edema-anyplace)..his feet and legs swelled. He ALSO had a typical stomach virus along with it. This is why they were so baffled...typical stomach virus wont cause swelling...but the Intodisception can. His bowls looked "loopey" because this condition was reseving itself, correcting itself on it's own. Which, the doctors say is what USUALLY happens. However, there are cases that SURGERY is needed....reason for his surgical team. This is EXACTLY what Ryan's family doctor believed he had--and why he sent us straight to Rainbow...instead of our hospital I can see from Ryan's bedroom window. He said Rainbow would have been the best place IF he needed surgery. Okay...so what now? Well...he was rx an enema IF he starts to throw up again...this would stop it so he doesnt become dehyrdrated again. I dont think he will need it..but better to have it on hand and never use it.
What a long few days...geesh,what day is it anyway? I keep saying weekend, but it's past that now.
Ryan and I have appointments tomorrow..Ryan for follow up and me because of my UC flaring again.
I will update...with hopefully more info from his doctor tomorrow.
Thanks ladies
Nichole

Give Ryan big hugs and kisses from us all and I hope he continues to feel much better. How about you? How are you doing? How are you feeling?
I called your house this evening, Joe said you ran out to get Ryan's medication. I was glad to hear you were all home!!!!!
