I don't think I'm going to get the pet contest pics posted till Thursday, so please bear with me! Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. If I get a chance, I'll get it done in the afternoon, but otherwise you can expect to see all the submissions on Thursday.
As for the luck issue: You've all probably heard me talk about how TERRIFIED I am of public speaking. I hate it. I feel like such an incompetent idiot whenever I have to speak. I do okay in certain work settings, like giving inservices for small groups of coworkers, but I'm really worried about tomorrow night. I was asked to be the guest speaker at the family council meeting (which consists of patients' family members, plus I think our administrator attends). I've heard that it's a very fiesty group of people--many of them lost their family members years ago yet they still attend these meetings!--and they bombard you with questions. I'm so nervous! Please wish me luck!
I also have to give an inservice to our entire nursing staff (which could be as many as 50 nurses) in two weeks, so I'll be freaking out about that, too, when the date draws nearer! ACK! I don't know why they suddenly want me to speak at all these events!
Good Luck Anne!! You are going to do great!! I am surprised you don't feel you are a good public speaker, you are so knowledgable, and confident here. I just know you are going to do awesome!! I hope the nerves aren't too bad for you!
Totally know what you mean. Put me in front of a group of adolescents and I'm fine. Put me in front of fellow teachers or parents and I'm terrified! I think that's why I'm much better online - I don't feel like I'm in front of a group!
You'll do fine once you get started. The lead up and beginning are always the worst. Once you get started you'll wonder why you were so nervous! Of course, that never carries over (at least for me!).
Imagine them naked? Is that what you do? I've never been able to do that successfully.
