Today is Gavin's speech evaluation. I'm sort of nervous about it. He's had a bit of a cold, so I'm sort of nervous about his "mood". He seemed great last night so I'm hoping with a good nap right before..he'll be okay. It's at 2:00 today.

I want to wish Gavin luck on his speech evaluation! I'm sure they are use to dealing with grumpy kids, but I hope he feels better still.

If they do the same eval that my kids have had .... they go mostly off what you say anyways so even if he's in a foul mood, they'll still know what's up

It went well. He DOES need speech therapy...for which I'm not suprised. She said he's currently around a 12 month speaking level.  But she said she didn't have any other concerns. He had great eye contact, good playing skills and had alot of other types of communication.
So now we just have to wait to hear from a speech pathologist who will most likely be coming out twice a month. All in all, I feel relieved and I'm glad that I made the decision to call. I just feel better knowing there's nothing drastically wrong with him. The lady was SUPER nice too!!!

I'm glad he is going to get the help he needs! It's great that you like the lady too!! I've heard that boys tend to be slower talkers in general. Don't worry, in no time he will be talking your ears off!

Glad you were so proactive w/ all of this! Kudos to you, mama! I'm interested to hear what sort of thing the S.P. will be doing w/ him. Do they come to your house and do you get to interact/get involved/observe??

Krystal, I am sorry he needs the ST, but I am so glad you made the call and got him going. It will be great, and I bet you see progress quickly! EI works wonders, and the younger, the better! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
