i've been having a LOT of discharge lately... it all seems (color, odor-wise) normal, but i'm worried that it might be my mucus plug coming out?? I had this weird feeling last night, inside, it seemed to be on/in my cervix... kind of like a tingly burning hurt pain. and then i'm constantly wet down there.
how soon before your labor does your mucus plug usually go away? anybody have any answers for me?????

From the sounds of an earlier post, if you're going into labor, we all are... I guess during the third tri-mester, the amount of discharge increases greatly... (I swear I am never going to feel dry again.) So, without an MD behind my name, I would say you are fine... but if it really bothers you, call the doc!

Since we are all close to 30 weeks, I am going to say that this is probably pretty normal. Some people loose the mucus plug WEEKS before delivery. Some loose it days, hours... some don't even notice. I lost mine within the week of delivery. But it wasn't like the normal gradual discharge. It was one, gigantic, blood tinged, blob. It was very stringy, thick stringy, almost like those nasty slimy things kids get out of vending machines that they throw against the wall or something. ... OK,, getting into TMI here. But, you definatly could tell the difference between the mucus plug and regular discharge, no questions.....

Yes, increased discharge sounds normal. I was advised to get some panty liners to help with the wetness factor.

Just popping in from Aug DDC to say I had the same problem around the time you are (I think). Let your doctor know and they can take a swab and make sure it isn't your plug or from and infection. I thought for sure the discharge was my plug, but it turned out just to be the most extreme discharge that the doctor has ever seen. It was gross but I was relieved to know it wasn't my plug so early. So let your doc know and they can tell you for sure!
