to anywhere warm w/ beautiful waters ..... where would you go and why?
James and I want to try and arrange a big trip for our 10th anniversary in Sept 08. We never took a honeymoon (not even a night in a hotel) and have never done anything for our anniversary except maybe a meal out. I just know I want somewhere "tropical" LOL

We are going to South Padre Island on the Texas/Mexico border in July. Very beautiful! You should check it out!

I would go back to Aruba. We loved it there when we honeymooned, but didn't get to see/do all the things they offer.

What is your budget? Do you like to drink? Lots to do or just you guys on the beach? If it were me I would do the Bahamas. I would go to San Salvador It is so peaceful there!

If I was planning a trip it would NOT be to somewhere warm w/ beautiful waters. It would be to somewhere cold with gorgeous mountains and SNOW!!
Hmmm...Depends on your budget. Are you looking to go out of the country? Do you have passports?

I'm with you: Let it snow, Let it snow, Let it snow. But our dear Trina has had plenty of that I'm sure.
These are great questions because to go just about anywhere now, including Mexico & Canada you need a passport. (correct me if I'm wrong ladies.) I was going to suggest a cruise as one of the most economical options (you'd be surprised)...but you'd need a passport for almost all the cruise options. How fun to plan. Give us more details....

I don't know what the budget will be yet....probably not TOO much ya know? LOOOOVE to drink I picture myself sprawled on the beach with a cabana boy bringing me daquari's and pina coladas!
I kind of want both activity wise, you know? I'd love to have lots to do if I felt like going out .... but great beaches to relax and do nothing on when I don't!
Passports won't be a big deal, you need them to go almost anywhere these days so I'm sure we'll have to get some!
Funny Karin and Nadine .... we're considering taking our trip in Jan '09 instead of Sept '08 to get AWAY from the bitter cold and snow!

Well, you asked where I would go, and I would go to Bora Bora... in my fantasy world, anyway. It's so freaking expensive, but I'm still holding out hope that we'll make it for our 10th anniversary. (It's so easy to think that things will happen they way you want them too when you're thinking about something that's 5 yrs away, LOL!)
I think Hawaii is a great idea, and I also agree about the cruises. I've never actually been on a cruise, but I know you can get some really good deals on them, and they have them with so many fun activities now. That way, you can either relax OR keep busy with activities, plus you get to see a bunch of different places all on one trip.
I also really want to go to Key West. I know it's not as exotic as a far away tropical island, but I've heard so many great things about it.
How exciting that you're planning something! Are there any places you have in mind?

I love South Padre! I don't hear of many non-Texans that go there!

This made me LOL Trina!!! I think you would love Puerto Vallarta Mexico. They actually have some beautiful resorts right outside of Puerto Vallarta. And it is VERY economical to go there. You can get a package deal that includes all your meals and drinks too...we had a blast out there. This is where we stayed...it was so much fun. And yes there was a cabana boy bringing me drinks by the pool!!!!

I went to Key Largo and some of the smaller islands in college. It was GREAT! We never made it down to Key West though. I REALLY wanted to go, but since it was a free ride, I did what the host wanted to do.
