...one of my books on weightloss fell open. It's an old book, and I've never even looked at it before. I noticed a whooole bunch of writing in the book. So, I went to the beginning and started to read. It starts November 29, 1988 (Kaitlyn's month/day of birth!) and ends February 20, 1991. At first, it sounds like a normal womans weightloss struggles. Then, the writer starts talking about her struggle to lose weight before the Emmy's Then at one point it says, "Stedman says I'm not even close to my potential as a human being. That I let the weight be a barrier. He's right! Sometimes." That's when I looked to see who the author is - Bob Greene and Oprah Winfrey...
Could those possibly be her writings??? Most of them are so sad!!
I don't have a scanner!!! But I can take a picture...let me try, brb!
If that doesn't work, my mom's scanner is still here so I'll try to hook it up and figure it out!
I know! My mom bought it for me at a thrift store right after I had Kaitlyn. I had never even looked at it before!
I'm gonna show it to her as soon as I see her!
That's neat Liz. Is is actual original handwriting or is it just copied into a printed book? I'm confused. But how cool if she actually wrote it, you could make some money! (or did I totally miss the point of this thread?! )
Speaking of Oprah...her mother worked at the hospital that my dad was the VP at in Milwaukee. He was very close to her (she worked in the kitchen), and she had wanted to get one of Oprah's cousins a job at the hospital. Oprah herself called my dad and talked to him about giving her cousin a job. My dad wasn't impressed much with Oprah, but I was!!! I was like "DO you know who you just talked too!!!" He did end up getting her cousin hired in some food service position, but she didn't last too long because she had a major drug problem.
So that is my little Oprah story!
YAY liz...let us know what you find out.

I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt form making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my nails from helping weed someone's garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheek and the tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived. "

It looks totally hand-written and original but I see what you guys mean about some of the words running right off the page...I just wonder why someone would do that or if ALL the copies of that book have these pages or WHAT?!?
