the bathroom?

I still keep a babygate up in our bathroom doors (which are a pain to step over) b/c I'm still so paranoid about Kaitlyn drowning in the toilet or something!!! So, she's never in there unless she's taking a bath, of course. I would just shut the door but, two reasons:
1) Darrell has a bad habit of "I FORGOT!" and that includes shutting the BR door.
2) The kittens litterbox is in the BR, and that's the only place in the house that Kaitlyn can't get to (b/c of the gate)

So, what do YOU do about BR's????? If your tod. can go in and out as they please, what do they do in there? If they can't, do you shut the door or have a gate or what?

95% of the time: NO
the other 5%: Yes, due to us forgetting to close the door! Usually she'll go up on her step stool and just talk to herself in the mirror or she'll try to reach her foamy soap....so I think we're lucky "so far"!

I do try to always keep the bathroom doors closed, but we do forget time to time.

Nope, no access. We have a couple baby gates that block access to the front of the house, which in turn blocks access to the stairs (and all the bathrooms, though that isn't really the purpose of the gates). There's no way to gate off the stairs without drilling into the wall, which DH won't do. If we were in a 1-story house, we'd have no gates.

technically no, she's not allowed in there, but we don't block it off or shut the door. We just tell her not to even think about it if she gets too close and then she goes in another direction. I should add that our apt. is very small.

we've stopped keeping the door closed since he can open it on his own. it's okay for the most part - he's pretty much busy elsewhere usually. but there have been the occasional dumping of the garbage, dragging out of the plunger, and pulling out all the toddler wipes. to MY knowledge, there has only been one incident of him touching the toilet when the seat had been left up. as there are THREE boys leaving the seats up everywhere, this is bound to happen.

We keep the bathroom doors shut, although someone (not me!) occasionally forgets. Thatcher really isn't interested in the toilet at all. He usually just runs in there and grabs his potty that converts to a step stool, and then he drags it out to the computer room so he can climb on it and reach everything on the desk.

I do have the master bath childproofed b/c sometimes Thatcher plays in there while I shower. We have cabinet and drawer locks, and a toilet lock. I made up a little "vanity kit" just for him, and he only gets it when he's in the bathroom, so that keeps him happy. I was getting sooooo sick of him pulling all the items out of the drawers! I can't count the number of lipstick tubes that were destroyed.

WOW, I am so impressed! You've done a good job teaching her to listen!

Always closed unless he comes in with me while I go. I don't like him in there too much because he immediately lifts the lid and likes to throw things in there hehe

She does, as in we leave the doors open, but if she starts playing in there or in our bedroom I will shut the doors. Usually she is pretty good about staying out of there.

I keep the one downstairs closed, he can't get upstairs b/c I have a gate at the stairs. One day one of the kids forgot to close the door and he and his cousin went in there and had a field day! The unrolled the entire roll of toilet paper (and shredded it up! ) and played in the toilet! YUCK!

Nate has access. He doesn't really do anything bad in there if he goes in there (maybe opens the cupboard and rearranges a few items, nothing dangerous) He doesn't lift toilet lids and ours are always down. His potty chair is in there and he likes to put a few toys in it (he has never peed in it lol).

I heard someone say once that if you hear the toilet flush and then uh oh - it's too late. You might want to keep that in mind with Eric!!

Charlie has no access to bathrooms because of ALL the above named reasons.

Amber doesn't have access to the bathroom, we keep the door shut. When she's in there, she's in there for a reason. Like when I have showers when DF isn't home, or when I need to brush my teeth, she brushes her teeth in there, too, or baths.

We keep the door closed, but she can still get in there from my room. No chemicals are kept in there...toilet's closed (she's too lazy to lift the lid. LOL) She likes to go in there and look at the ducks in the tub.

I shut the doors, only problem though is Trey learned how to open doors so he constantly just opens and shuts the door which is so annoying! When he is in the bathroom upstairs as I'm preparing his bath he rips everything out from underneath the sink

The bathroom door is closed 99% of the time. We also have baby-proof door lock thingy too, cuz he knows how to open the door. When he does get in there he heads straight for the toilet paper, toilet brush, or toilet.....................YUCKY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! Yes, he has even splashed in the water before!

I normally keep the bathroom doors closed but if by any chance they are open Jehan doesnt spend much time in there. He'll hang out by his bathtub and will throw things in it but wont go to the toilet seat.

We keep the door closed. But when we do forget he usually goes in there to step on his step stool or try to get to his shampoo and stuff. He also loves to try to get to the plunger. Since our cats like to play in the toilet we are very very good about always keeping the lid closed, and he has never went to play with the toilet besides flushing it. He has never yet tried to lift the lid.

I always close the bathroom door and try to remember to close it after Jessica and Mike as well. Sometimes Joey does get in there and he likes to unroll the toilet paper, throw all the bath toys into the bath tub, get out all my female hygiene products and scatter them about on the floor and build towers with the pads. and flush the toilet repeatedly. And one time i caught him actually playing and splashing in the toilet water!!!
