I know I don't post too often but I took the 3-hr GD test last Friday and my m/w called with the results yesterday. Technically, I passed. In order to be considered positive you have to have 2 out of the 4 samples come back over 145. One came back abnormal and one just under at 142. Well, they want to be on the safe side and treat me as if I have GD. I have an appt with a Diabetes Educator and a nutritionist next Wednesday, but I have really no idea what to expect.

If you have any info I would really appreciate it.

Thanks,

Lea

I failed the 1 hour test and had to take the 3 hour one ... I dont know the exact counts from my 3 hours...but my dr said technically i passed .. but she also said that one of my numbers was slightly abnormal , the others were really good ..she just asked me to watch my sugar intake ..she did not seem too worried about it ... but she asked me to stay away from not only true sugars but also from foods like bananas, white bread, carrots ,etc that increase the chances of having GD ...

Thank you. I guess my numbers were too close just to watch...they want me on the full GD diet. I know it is best for the baby but I am really bummed about it. Not knowing anything is worse, I will probably feel better after my appts next week.

Thanks again!!

you'll do fine. It's not as big of a deal as it was years ago whent hey didn't know much about it. You just really have to be strict on what you eat and when you eat. They will give you a ton of information, or should anyway, when you meet your nutritionist. And really, what you will learn there is a good plan to take with you even when you are not pregnant.. maybe adjust calories a little bit... but really all it is, is a healthy meal plan with controlled carbs... not no carbs....

You'll do great!
