I am in the market for a new camera, and I am not sure what to get! I would LOVE the Canon Rebel, but it isn't in my price range right now, so I am looking for something small, just a point and shoot-- preferably less then $300. So, just curious what you have, and what you recommend!

Thanks!

I have a Kodak EasyShare Z710 and I love it!

I think when we got our it was $250, but the price has dropped a little since. They now have the Z712 which if I had to choose between the 2 now I would probably get that one!

Yes, it's a powershot ... let me grab a link. It's seriously the best camera I've ever had!! I looove it! So easy to use, crystal clear pics, huge screen!

Here's the amazon link but you can find it MUCH cheaper than that .... I got mine for $270 at Best Buy back in Feb! But it has customer reviews and such on this site (4 1/2 out of 5 stars w/ 216 reviews)

I think the only real difference in them is the MP ..... and when I was investigating and researching for our camera ... I considered your's too .... but read that anything over 6 is pretty useless unless you are going to be having photos larger than 18 inches printed. At the time, mine was $50 cheaper so I went with mine.

I was a bit worried about not having a viewfinder but I've not missed it a single bit!! I never use one, I guess.... I just use the screen

I have the Canon Rebel! It is wonderful, but I know you said that is not what you are in the market for. (I wasn't either, I thought it was waaaaaaaaaaaay too pricey, but Nick got it for me for my b-day, and once I had it, it was NOT going back! )

I have a Kodak Easyshare Z740, and I love it. I wanted a good zoom so I could get close ups of facial expressions, and this one has a 10x optical zoom.
