Okay, I'm not one to freak out... but right now... I'm FREAKING OUT! It's been almost two hours (give or take fifteen minutes) and the baby hasn't moved once! I drank orange juice, laid on my side, walked around, poked my stomach, shook my stomach, and I even pressed on my stomach and felt her foot or something... USUALLY when I do this, she either pushes back or moves away...but her foot wont move at all... I can continue to press it... I'm really worried, and I'm thinking I should call my doctor if there isn't any movement soon. But it's really late and I feel bad for calling (stupid, I know). Any quick ideas for me to see if I can get her to move???

This happened to me a week ago or so. I was freaking out too! I just prayed the baby would move and it did. It doesn't have a lot of room right now, and it's still growing bit by bit. Some babies are just lazy at times! Hehe. I hope everything goes okay and that the baby starts to move again soon!

I'm sure things are okay but if you are really scared call your dr. I noticed that Brandon hadn't moved in a while yesterday and I started singing to him and that got him jumping! I bet baby is just taking a good nap!

I was at the DR's yesterday and he tried to see if my baby would respond to him. He used the ultrasound to check position etc and kept on poking her but she did not move. I almost freaked, but he checked the heart beat and it was good and he said not to worry. I said I was concerned and he tried to poke her again and eventually she DID move. He said she was most likely asleep and he had to wake her up that is why it took a little while.

He said that it may SEEM that baby is not as active as before because there is not a lot of space left and less water and now babies sleep more and they have the rapid eye movement which indicates DEEP sleep so it takes a while for them to wake up. Also if baby's back is toward your belly you may simply not feel much.

He said if I am ever concerned to try and dring something sweet like juice etc and in 10-15 mins to try and poke the baby few times and then drink more and lie on my side and count movements.

I hope everything is ok with your little one.

P.S.: If you are worried, CALL and don't be shy about it. Better safe than sorry.

im all for listening to maternal instinct, and demanding that someone listen to my maternal instinct, in situations like this. Go have her checked if you are realy concerned, seriously. Demand that she be checked if you have to.

Let us know what happens - did you call the doc, go to L&D or did she move on her own?

If you're truly worried go ahead and call! That's what they are there for.

That's happened to me a lot. My daughter just doesn't care if I press her. lol She moves when she wants to and if she doesn't want to move, she doesn't. She's very stubborn and has a mind of her own. I hope everything is okay...let us know.

Did she move? Last Monday at the hospital, when they did the u/s, I could clearly see she was moving on the screen (moving her head back and forth, wiggling her fingers), but I didn't feel anything thru my belly at all. Could be b/c her back's towards your front.

I really hope everything turned out OK, if you got checked out!

That's scary. I had an ultrasound and he wouldn't move. They pressed really hard on his head because that usually makes a baby move. It didn't bother him at all. They pushed him and nothing happened. Then they went and got some thing like a horn and put that on my belly. It scared the heck out of me. He just moved 2 fingers and that was it. Evidently he's a sound sleeper. A few hours later he was all over the place.

I was feeling the same way last night. I kind of thought to myself, "ya know, I haven't felt anything in awhile..." I didn't drink any juice because I had just eaten some ice cream, but I did drink more water and I really payed attention. I started to freak out because it was about an hour and a half before I felt anything, but eventually I did and then in the next hour he had plenty of movements. Just sleepin I guess! But it definitely freaks you out.

I hope everything is ok. I usually push on Emmett or lay down and that usually gets him going.
