Well it was a rather boring appointment. LOL.

First off for those that don't know I am just being seen by my regular physician until August 13th when I start seeing the OB that saw me through my pregnancy with Jacob.

So I went in today expecting a pap and we tried to do one but for the second time she couldn't get at my cervix...I have a tilted uterus which makes it difficult but I'm also overweight which makes it more difficult. She said she could see the cervix but she didn't want to poke and prode to much to actually get the speculum open around it...she says the OB might try again when I see him because they have different lengths and widths of speculums.....whatever lol I'll be just as happy to wait until I'm done being pregnant.

I was down 15 pounds total since my very first appointment 7 weeks ago....she's not concerned since I am overweight to begin with and neither am I....as long as I'm eating enough calories and staying healthy is the goal.....they reccomend people who are overweight limit their weight gain to 10-15 pounds total anyways....

I have low iron right now but not at the critical level so I should be able to boost that with adding more meat. legumes, etc. to my diet...great just the stuff that makes me feel all queasy inside!

We did a screening the last time I was in just to see where my glucose levels were at because I'm very concerned about gestational diabetes with my size factored in....turns out I am in the low risk category currently so that is just awesome news.....my glucose was 5.6....

Hmm lets see..she doesn't have a doppler so we couldnt' even try to look for the heartbeat bummer but at my last ultrasound the baby's heartbeat was 161...I didn't know this last time but asked because I wanted to know. I have an ultrasound next week on the 24th and I'm very anxious to make sure the bambino is doing a-ok...so cross your fingers that all is well.

My blood pressure was 128/88 which is pretty typical for me...I have a baseline blood pressure of 130/90 usually so it was even a bit down from where it normally is...again no complaints from me.....

Over all a pretty typical, boring appointment.......although I was really hopeful that I'd get to hear the heartbeat.....

Sounds great to me! Boring appointments are good things... When my appointments started getting exciting, it wasn't a good thing
