Emily was in my room watching tv. I left her long enough to put some clothes in the dryer. I came back to find that she had gone in my closet and found one of her Christmas presents Now she's throwing a fit for it.

I moved it and put it back up but I'm sure when ds comes home she'll tell him all about it.

Surely she'll forget about it between now and Christmas right? I'm going to have to put a hinge lock on my closet now.

Dangit! Sadly I don't think she'll forget about it at this point. DD recalls of toys she hasn't played with in over a year.
Last Christmas Jared got a toy that we felt was inapproriate and took it and hid it away. Well he found it and they BOTH remembered it was a Christmas item from one of their Grandmas.
With DD she has seen a few birthday presents early and we explained that it was for another little girls birthday and that should would need to ask to get it for her birthday. Perhaps you can try that and tell her to ask Santa for it?

Ds has karate tonight and Emily has a couple little girls there that she plays with. The present she found was a Crayola tote loaded full of colors, markers and pictures. She's already said she's taking it to share with her friends tonight

Baylee's birthday present was in the back of my tahoe....she NEVER goes back there....I wasn't worried about it being found....well the little stink....stood up in her carseat the other day while I was buckling bubby in and started snooping around.....I didn't even notice...til I heard "IS THAT FOR ME?!" and I looked up to see what she was talking about....I was like NO it's not..."is it for bubby?" yes it is "well I need one too" well maybe for your birthday if you're really sweet

haha she hasn't asked about it again and it is now hidden safely in a closet at granny's house.....until I get a chance to wrap it....

I would try telling her it is someone else's present and maybe if she is really sweet santa will bring it for her?
