I don't think you are crazy. To each his own!! I would prefer to go into labor naturally. Good luck with labor - I hope it's quick, but not too quick! By the way, I LOVE the name Aubree!!!!

You are NOT crazy! You did what your gut said and that is usually to always the best... plus you will be giving aubree the chance to get to her due date. you'll probably go on or around that time, anyway.
Best of luck!

Yeah I'm on my 10 day countdown and I'd really like her to pick her own birthdate but I'm so scared about the GBS causing 5% of babies who get it to die..yuck

Well I'm definitely proud of you for chosing the natural way. Your baby girl will come when she's ready and I'm sure that you'll make it to the hospital in time to get your medicine hooked up. Just make sure that you head to labor and delivery as soon as u feel it coming. Good luck!!

YOU GO GIRL!!! Pitocin sucks LOL, I think you def. made the right choice here! I mean, i can understand why you would do it because of the GBS and quick labor issue, but I honestly think you made the best choice!!!

You're not crazy at all! I turned down induction several times, but finally broke down and did it since it was obvious my body wasn't interested in labor.

NO! Your not crazy!! I WISH that I didn't have to be induced... I am so scared they say the pain is much worse! But you are lucky that you had the choice because if I did I would definitely said NO WAY!! But because of health issues I can't! Best of Luck!!!

Thanks you guys! I feel better about my decision then. Although I am really thinkin of pulling up Sidhesister's post about her remedy for it so I don't gotta worry about the effects of GBS <Sounded like ALOT of work tho! lol>
Sonnetjie: GBS is Group B Strep. The lovely thing 10-30% of women carry during pregnancy that they check for at 35-37 weeks. It can be passed to the baby during delivery.

I think you made the right choice, if that's what your gut said for you to do!
About the GBS, If you only get one dose of the antibiotics before baby is born, they will give the second one directly to her when they give it to you, so don't worry too much about that. She'll still get the medicine one way or another. My doc told me this at my last appt because I'm GBS + also.

i think that you made the best choice too KITT. i love the idea of not interfering with choosing your baby's birthdate. and sounds like you are healthy still, and realisitic that the next couple weeks (or less) is going to fly by.
i dont know if you are going to have time to try the regiment that i did and am doing. but there are some things that will help for sure. like a garlic clove in the vagina, and oral acidipholis.
but the other girls are right, if you are in a hospital, i totally think that you will have time to get the dose of the antibiotics as not to pose a risk for the baby.
geez... i am glad that no one has offered me to get induced. i doubt that i would take it, but man oh man, i am soo eager to meet my little "moonbeam".

I'm pretty eager too! I wanted her actually to hold off as long as possible because my dd's b-day is in 6 days and I have a terrible feeling that this baby would come a day before or on her birthday and that's alot of party planning and presents! lol but looking at everyone's new babies is KILLING me just wanting to see what my own looks like and who's eyes she has.
alright so garlic up in the vagina <eww> lol the doctors would be like what in the...??? lol not to mention my hubby prolly would not come near me HAHAHA
and what is oral acidipholis?

I don't think you're crazy either-- I'd have done the same thing.
I got antibiotics about 90 min-2 hours or so, before mine was born. They made us stay an extra night in the hospital for that. Grrr. Hope you get yours soon enough, and even if not, chances are high that everything will be a-okay.

Well, I'm glad you're happy with your choice! However, do you think you could send your doctor up here?? I'd LOVE to be induced, but my docs won't do it!!

Kitt I dont think you are crazy for turning down an induction!! I went to labor on my own the 1st 2 times and I have been induced the last 2 times, my 1st induction was a piece of cake my last one was a night mare, not one i want to repeat, but I also know that this baby isnt coming for some time if I am not induced this time, I would love to go into labor on my own but I think I would be pregnant for at least another 2 weeks, so when the dr said lets go ahead and induce I said OK and then he cancled it maybe a sign I will go on my own before Monday...Good Luck with the GBS+, This is my 1st pregnancy where I have tested + for it too and I am scared to death of my baby getting it, My water broke for my 1st pregnancy, I just want to get to the hospital quickly to get the anitbiotics if that should happen again!!
