I know every baby is different, but what is the average of when the babies sleep more than 3-4 hours at night? I can't wait to get some decent sleep!!

I'm not sure, I'm wondering too!! I think Haley has slept 5 hours in a row, maybe 2 or 3 times (not in a row of course!)

My twins were almost a year before they slept through the night (6-8 hours) Jenna was 8 weeks so it just depends. John is sleeping 5 hur stretches.

never. we're never going to sleep again. lol
well, at least it FEELS that way...
rachel was probably around 2-3 months. bobby is very slowly getting better- but the most he will do is 3 hour streches, and thats nothing you can count on.

Sounds like I'm really lucky. Caleb and Ryland slept through the night for the first time at 2 months old. Ryland is not consistently sleeping through the night yet, it's just now and then. Ryland is exclusively breastfed too. I've always heard that breastfed babies take longer to sleep through the night. ???

Seth all of the sudden jumped from 3-4 hour stretches to 6-8 hour stretches about a week ago (he's 8 weeks now). I wouldn't say he actually sleeps through the night since he goes to bed at 8. I still have to get up with him, but it's only once usually. He's exclusively breastfed too....I think formula babies CAN sleep longer periods because it takes longer to digest formula than breastmilk, but it really just all depends on the baby.
It'll happen...I thought Seth would never sleep more than 4 hours at a time til he was 10... Then one night he just surprised me!

My daughter started sleeping through the night at 4 months. And by that I mean she slept midnight-6. At that point I moved her out of our room and in to her crib across the hall..and within another month she was sleeping 10-12 hours everynight.

I read something somewhere that said "90% of babies sleep 6 hours or more by the time they are 3 months old." And for what it's worth, in magazines/books and according to doctors, 6 hours is considered sleeping through the night. It doesn't feel like it if you put them to bed early, though!
Our experience with Emma thus far is that we put her to bed between 9:30-10:30pm. She then wakes around 3-4am to feed. So officially she's sleeping through the night... We're still hoping for longer stretches as she nears the 2 month milestone, but we shall see. I'm pretty happy with what she's doing now!

My son Matthew is almost 8 weeks old and generally is still waking once a night to eat. He generally goes down around 7:30-8, then I get him up again around 10-10:30 if he's still sleeping to feed him again, then he usually goes until between 2:30 and 3:30, then until about 6:30-7. I can't wait until it's all night! He has gone from 9pm-4am a few times.
