I had to get up at 4am this morning to do some work for a client. I think I was so paranoid about oversleeping that I slept lightly and actually woke up before my alarm, at 3:59am. Seeing that "3" was scary and unusual for me!

  • What time do you normally go to bed?
  • Do you fall asleep easily and do you sleep straight through the rest of the night on most nights?
  • What time do you normally get up?
  • Do you sleep later on weekends/days where you don't have kids' activities or work?
  • If you were home alone for the weekend with no plans, what time would you go to bed and then get up?
  • Have you ever taken a sleep-aid (i.e. Tylenol PM or Ambien)? Did it work for you?
I took some of Gene's prescription Ambien last night because I went to bed at 8:30 in order to get up so early. Yet I knew there was no way I'd fall asleep that early. So I tried the Ambien. I know I still laid there for over 30 minutes, but once I was asleep I was O U T. I still felt a little groggy this morning and didn't like the feeling. But I would try it again if in a pinch. Thankfully I've never needed it before.

* What time do you normally go to bed?I try to be in bed by 11 on weeknights or it's going to be a hard morning
* Do you fall asleep easily and do you sleep straight through the rest of the night on most nights? I remember NEVER falling asleep easy as a kid, but now I fall asleep almost instantly and I sleep like a rock!
* What time do you normally get up? 5:50 for work, hopefully the kids will sleep until 7 on the weekend. DH will usually let me sleep a little longer on Saturday since I have to get up earlier than the rest of the fam on Sunday
* Do you sleep later on weekends/days where you don't have kids' activities or work? Hopefully!!!
* If you were home alone for the weekend with no plans, what time would you go to bed and then get up? stay up late 12-1 and get up around 10
* Have you ever taken a sleep-aid (i.e. Tylenol PM or Ambien)? Did it work for you?
I've never taken a prescription one, but I have taken Tylenol PM in the past, just not recently

Sleep has always been a really difficult thing for me. I struggled with insomnia BADLY from age 16-20. I'm talking maybe 2-3 hours of sleep each night. It was ridiculous. However when I'm pregnant or have a new baby, I tend to sleep very well.

What time do you normally go to bed? Around 10.
Do you fall asleep easily and do you sleep straight through the rest of the night on most nights? Not usually. (Again, I do now because I have a new baby.) But normally it takes me a good hour to fall asleep. Sometimes 2 or 3. On bad nights it's 4-5. However, once I'm asleep, if I do wake up, I go back to sleep very easily.
What time do you normally get up? I set my alarm for 6 am so that I have time to pump, drink coffee, and get online before my kids wake up.
Do you sleep later on weekends/days where you don't have kids' activities or work? Nope. 6 am all the time. Once every other Tuesday I get to sleep in because Cory is off, so we alternate sleeping in. Then I sleep til maybe 8 which is wonderful!
If you were home alone for the weekend with no plans, what time would you go to bed and then get up? Probably asleep around 1 and awake around 10.
Have you ever taken a sleep-aid (i.e. Tylenol PM or Ambien)? Did it work for you? Tylenol PM and Excedrin PM both. I used to alternate so I wouldn't become immune to one. I also used to use Nyquil in a pinch which knocked me out good. Later, I discovered it had alcohol in it, which is why it worked so well. Lol. Oops.

Do you fall asleep easily and do you sleep straight through the rest of the night on most nights? I more often than not fall asleep rather easily.
What time do you normally get up? Between 6 and 6:30
Do you sleep later on weekends/days where you don't have kids' activities or work? Only by an hour or so.
If you were home alone for the weekend with no plans, what time would you go to bed and then get up? I would probably sleep pretty much all day. Hard telling what the time to sleep would be. LOL
Have you ever taken a sleep-aid (i.e. Tylenol PM or Ambien)? Did it work for you? Only took Ambien once and that was when I got induced, and yes it did work.

What time do you normally go to bed? usually 10:30
  • Do you fall asleep easily and do you sleep straight through the rest of the night on most nights? These days, I fall right to sleep. In the past I've had trouble falling asleep but I'm so worn out these days it's not hard. I usually sleep all night provided Leah lets me, and most nights she does. (bless her!) Caleb does wake me up sometimes during the night but he usually goes to Chris' side of the bed so I don't always wake up if he does come to our room. Without factoring kids into it, I would sleep all night.
  • What time do you normally get up? On Seth's school days I get up around 6:30 so I can have myself and the boys ready by the time Leah gets up. The rest of the week I usually get up when Chris leaves for work around 7ish.
  • Do you sleep later on weekends/days where you don't have kids' activities or work? Chris is a morning person so he usually gets up with the boys on Saturday. I sometimes will stay in bed until Leah gets up (around 8ish)
  • If you were home alone for the weekend with no plans, what time would you go to bed and then get up? No idea! I usually can't make it much later than 11 and I doubt I'd be able to sleep past 8:30 or maybe 9.
  • Have you ever taken a sleep-aid (i.e. Tylenol PM or Ambien)? Did it work for you? I have in the past taken Lunesta. I had a prescription for it for awhile (pre-kids) when I was dealing with some anxiety and having a hard time falling asleep. I haven't taken anything since I've had kids though.

10:30 - 11:00pm

I usually fall asleep easily, except for the last couple of weeks. Finding out I was pregnant meant quitting smoking cold turkey (I know, I know) and now I have the worlds worst cold (and can't take anything) on top of my body getting rid of the smoking toxins. Sleeping has been difficult and restless.

I get up at 6am on the weekdays

Dave and I take turns on the weekends, we each get a day to "sleep in" which usually means we get up at 8:30 instead of 6:30.

Home alone? HA! I'd probably go to sleep about midnight and sleep until I woke up.. maybe 9:00. I was speaking at a conference in New Orleans a few weeks ago, had a fancy comfy hotel room to myself and had a whole morning where I didnt need to be anywhere. I was wide awake at 6am and pissed off about it.

I used to take a 1/2 a tylenol PM to just help me get over that edge to fall asleep. I did that for about a year and my body seemed ready to just do it on its own after that.

I go to bed around 2... yes very late but I work til 11:30 and get home at 12 on work nights Mon-Thur. Fri-Sun I go to bed around 12.
I have no problem sleeping, I usually get a massage from Marioand that def puts me out.
We wake up around 8 pretty much every day esp if it a day Sydney has school, she has to be there at 9 and it only a couple of minutes away. If we have nothing in the morning and the kids sat asleep late I stay in bed until they do, ocassionally they sleep til 9
If I were alone I'd go to bed at 12 and wake up at 10. I haven't slept without Sydney or Dean since they were born so that would be kind of freaky for me to wake up alone.

I don't usually go to bed until 2 am sometimes 3. I've never been big on sleeping I guess. If I get more than 5 hours I wake up with a headache and feel nauseous. Almost like I'm hung over.
