Carson started swimming lessons at 3. He did good the first year and then last year, I put him with an individual here in the town we live b/c I am working again. I don't know what happened, but he just did "click" with the lady and everytime I mentioned swimming lessons this year, he would cry and say he didn't want to go.
This year, I'm putting him back in the place he went when he was 3 and he is fine with it. Also it's the LSU's swim team that teaches it..maybe it's all the pretty girls LOL. Only thing is, it's a 30 min drive (depending on traffic) to and from everyday for two weeks in the afternoon!
Nichole took it at about 3 1/2 but only for 6 weeks. She liked it well enough. It was at the Y though and we stopped going shortly after due to them not taking care of Avery appropriately.
But hopefully this will work out for Carson, sucks witht he drive but if he really likes the teacher and the class it will be worth it
Troy did it last June and did okay. He had huge issues being with someone he didn't know and me not being allowed near the pool but he did learn quite a bit. I am thinking we'll do it again this year now that he's more outgoing
nathan & brady just went for the first time this winter and i don't know.....i feel like it was kind of a waste of money. they were both already very comfortable in the water, would go under, no problem getting their faces wet, jump in, etc......but nathan didn't "pass" the class he was in so he has to repeat it if we want to re-enroll.
they didn't seem to learn anything. i am thinking about looking into a private instructor this summer. maybe someone who can come to the house?
Gina, wife to Joe...mama to Nathan (8), Brady (7) and Chase (3)
Peyton is taking them through pre-school, he goes to the local YMCA. Two of the lessons have been cancelled due to rain so he is really only getting 4 lessons. Not sure how much good they have done. Tomorrow is his last one.
