Is your 06'er experimenting with it? How do you deal with it?

So far, no. Both of my other two had by now. Fritz has a very black and white outlook on obeying rules and that includes lying. I do not tolerate lying at all and my older two grew out of it very quickly.

I get it a lot from Lily and Julia, only when it comes to who did what... they automatically blame the other person. As for how I deal with it, they both get into trouble until the truth comes out. I wish I had a better way, but I honestly can't tell who is lying at the time. Usually a couple minutes of "time out" or being in trouble has the guilty party apologizing.

She lied for the first time a few months ago and I got down to her level and asked her why. She explained it's because she thought I would get mad at something she did. I then explained to her that I would only get mad at the lying, I would not get mad if she told me the truth. We also talked about how God does not like lying. Anyway, she accepted it pretty well and it hasn't happened since.

Man, Julia - I did much the same, and Eric accepted it...and then tried it again a couple weeks later. He doesn't do it very often, but he will blame...anything. Danny, the cats, ghosts, you name it, LOL. I have zero tolerance for lying, and I'm hoping he gets over it quickly. His latest thing is, when caught in a lie, to flash a grin and say, "Just joking!" like that's going to make it OK, heh.
