Sleepovers

Sorry if this is a repeat topic but I want to know how others feel about this...

How do you feel about friend sleepovers for your '06 child? Do you think they are too young for it? Does it matter if it is at your house vs their friends house? Is there certain criteria for whether or not you would allow it?

As long as it's with a friend whose parents I know well and who know my child well I don't have a any problems with it. At the moment that's narrowed down to 2 friends of hers, but I know she wouldn't want to stay over at either of their houses although she'd be happy to stay all day with them!

I'd have to know the family extremely well. Cameron spent the night with friends as young as 6 but both families were close friends with a son Cameron's age and a daughter Ani's age so sometimes one would take all the boys and another would take all the girls and the other would be free of their kids those ages. Sometimes both Ani and Cameron would spend the night at one friend's house at the same time. I don't feel comfortable where we are now for Ani and Cameron to spend the night anywhere let alone Fritz.

Not yet, she's not ready.

She still calls out at night sometimes- if she has to use the bathroom, I have to get up with her- she can't reach the light. Or even silly things "my blankets are all twisted, help!" ugh. Not until she quits doing that, I won't let her sleep at someone elses house because I wouldn't want them to need to get up for that. Plus, I think she'd just have a hard time with it.

I would have to know the parents very well.. Although I don't think Zoe would actually stay over anywhere.

Brody would probably be happy to have sleepovers but its just not something I'm going to allow for quite some time

We are fine with it. The girls seem to enjoy them. They actually had a "field trip" with school where they went to a camp overnight with just their classmates and teachers. No parents went. They had the time of their lives!
