Dakota came down with a cold Friday night and still has it. I thought I was in the clear because I figured I brought home the germs from School and I just wasn't affected by it. I WAS WRONG! Dakota got it from the babysitters house and she got me sick! And let me tell you, she doesn't feel bad about it one bit She has decided that she will not nap and if she is going to nap, I am supposed to rock her to sleep (which I haven't done since she was 2 months old!). She isn't terribly cranky or anything, just doesn't want to sleep! Her cough is getting worse, poor baby!
Me on the other hand, I am dying over here. My mom just left, she helped me out with Dakota today. I am running a low fever and if I stop taking my cold meds my fever goes up. I feel horrible! I havent felt this bad since before I was pregnant. *Sigh* Oh well!
And I was just thinking to myself how lucky I have been that Dakota has only had one cold.. I really jinxed myself!
I know what you mean! I've been sick for the past two weeks, and Joshua has it too. This past weekend was hell for us... Joshua didn't want to sleep AT ALL.
No fun!! Seth and I had a cold at the same time a few weeks ago (DH gave it to us! grr.) It was not fun at all! You can't call in sick when you're a mommy!
Jess didn't tell you guys the worst part....Dakota and her very bestest friend, Abigail were suppose to go apple picking today!!! Hope you feel better soon....give Dakota big hugs and kisses for me.
Aw hope you and Dakota feel better Jess!!! Christian and I had the cold a few weeks ago, he had it longer than me, poor thing. Saline drops saved us from alot of sleepless nights lol.

Meegan, I havent tried Saline yet, she has been doing pretty good with just tylonal, but I might try the saline tonight... poor baby!

I found that the best time to do it was after his bath, when his nose was good and moist so I could get all the snot out. Then I put in a few drops so he could breathe good when he was sleeping. Good luck!!
sorry you both are sick! when baby j had his cold, I gave him tylenol for the fever, elixsure for the nasal congestion (the dr gave it to me) and then I gave him some infant drops, I think pediacare cough, and it cleared it up. Of course dont do that without asking your dr but just letting you know that it works. Actually I gave him the pediacare without asking the dr, I gave him .4 every few hrs.

I have been giving Dakota Tylonal (its actually Infants Tylonal for Colds) every 4 hours and its been working pretty well! Her cough has gotten worse though but I am hoping its from all the mucus dripping down from her nose. That is what it seems like it is. She hasn't ran a fever yet and I am hoping she wont! Last night Nathan and I both had Vicks Vapor rub on our chests under our shirts, so I think us holding her really helped her out (she didn't come in contact with it, she could just smell it). I keep trying to give her a break from the Tylonal (she has been on it for 3 days now) but once I stop, she gets all clogged up again. I will have to try the saline tonight and maybe I will go get some Menthol baby wash to put in her bath.
As for me, ugh, I went to bed at 10pm last night with a 101.3 fever. After drugging myself into a coma, lol, I woke up at 4am in desperate need of more meds. My fever was 100 though so atleast that is better. I havent taken my temp since though, I still feel like I am running a fever but the cold meds are helping out alot.
But now Nathan is sick and home from work too lol. Dakota is going to the babysitters today because we want to get her away from all these germs (shes been in the house for 4 days). I can't help but feel guilty though, even though I know she isnt running a fever and she is happy for the most part. I just feel like if I am home, she should be home too *sigh*. But atleast this will give me the chance to disinfect the whole house!
dont feel guilty about sending her to the babysitters. you need to rest so you can get better and be able to take care of her better, and she really doesn't need to be around if both of you are sick! Im sick right now too (it just came around yesterday again) but i have some meds from the first time I was sick and hopefully that will help! Get better soon Jess
