We are moving to PB in February and I am needing advice on the town and such. I posted a topic on Semo.net and got a lot of information but not enough. I hope you know which schools are good, landlords and such. We aren't planning on looking for a place until that time but I wanted to give you a heads up to see if you would be willing to help. DH is working there again roofing and I want out of Arkansas... lol. I graduate next week and PB hospital is as good as job as any. Is there any way you can help out? Do you get a PB newspaper? At least I'll finally get to meet you and Beth

Congrats! That's awesome news!

The landlords as far as I know are all pretty much the same and as with any town, there's certain sections you might not find to be favorable to live in. We're on the far south side and it's very quiet. The north side is pricier but also nice. The northeast and southeast sides have some rougher neighborhoods, but there are some decent areas in each section that are comfortable to live in. If you ever come up with a location or address, I can give you more info on the area.

Schools are all basically the same and depending on which part of town you live in will delegate which school your kids go to. If you want to do private school, there's the Baptist Academy. I don't know the prices there, but I hear they're really steep.

I can get a paper at any time. They sell them all over town at every major intersection and even inbetween. Just let me know what you're looking for.

Well Jarrod has talked to his boss and they seem to think that Oak Grove and then O'neal will be the best school for Wes since he has Asperger's Syndrome and ADHD. Both are supposed to have great resource teachers. I hope so...

We are wanting to only spend around $650-$700 a month on rent and want to have a 4 bedroom but will settle for a three bedroom. I just want a good clean home in a good clean neighborhood. I'd really like to be out in the country in Oak Grove school district so if you see something along those lines, please let me know. I'm gonna have to break down and buy a subscription to the online DarNews. Just makes me so mad that you have to pay but I'm a cheap scape...lol. We are not moving until we get our taxes in and we are moving as fast as possible then. I can't apply for a Missouri nursing license until I get my Arkansas one and live in Missouri but at least that'll give me time to get my house organized. I'm just so excited to get a house with a yard and driveway. Apartment living has been killing me lately, I hate living upstairs!!!! Ah, also, do you know which daycares are the best and how much is the average daycare? I pay $185/week here for Taylor and Todd.

I can't wait to meet you all, including you Stacey and the kids! I'm sure Todd will love all the kids. Taylor is going through terrible twos so you may want to bring ear plugs whenever we meet . Besides, Wesley will talk your ears off...

Josh was at Oak Grove when we first moved back and it was nice. The pick up routine after school kinda stinks because there's never enough room for the lines of cars to form. O'Neal is a great school too - also has pick up issues. The 5th and 6th grade center is really nice as well.. pick up is much easier because there's more room for the line to form.

With what you're wanting to spend on rent, you should be able to find something to your liking. I'll grab a paper for you and see what's available. If you're not moving until January though, it might be a good idea to wait until then, find something and then swoop in with the cash and take it.

I have no idea about daycare prices. I've always been at home with the kids while we lived here, so I've never checked into it. I can ask around though.

No need for earplugs with me! Kids rule my world. I could listen and watch kids all day long.. what a joy!
