We already got a flyer about an informational meeting about girl scouts on Wed! I'm not ready for this, lol!!

I didn't start until 1st grade - but I did girl scouts until I got to jr high. It was pretty much the only "organized" activity I did in elementary school. I never played any sports etc.

I always really enjoyed it. (well - until right at the end, when we all thought we were too old for it!) I'm just hesitant to add too many activities to Haley's schedule. We're pretty committed to gymnastics for now because it's so good for her sensory issues (and cheaper than OT haha!). She also is going to play fall soccer, which is only about 8 weeks granted, but she is also learning cello with me at home. That's pretty low key, because since she's still just doing it with me we can fit it in whenever, and don't have to drive somewhere or be tied into a schedule.

As a non-parent, it seems ridiculous to overschedule a young child - but now it seems easier to me to understand how it happens!!

I know! Seth has played soccer for the last 2 years. He didn't want to play this year so he's not, and he's not doing any other activities for now. We talked about Karate, but I didn't realize it was so expensive. ($100/month!) so we're not doing that. He's so spent after being at school all day right now I can't imagine adding more to that (for now.)! But Caleb is playing soccer so we still have his practices/games to go to and that's enough for me. I don't even want to think about what it's going to be like when we have 3 kids doing activities. We've already decided to limit them to 1 activity at a time (at least while they're still little), but multiply that x3 and you still have the possibility of only being home 2 evenings during the week!

Cub Scouts doesn't start here until 1st grade. Chris is really excited about getting Seth into Cub Scouts so he'll probably do that next year.

I was in Brownies in 1st - 3rd grade, and then Girl Scouts in 4th - 6th grade. So for right now we'll wait with Emma.

We have gymnastics on Tuesdays for Emma.

I really want both kids back into swimming lessons, but I'm also hesitant to add another night of activities for 3 & 5 year olds!

Sam will start cub scouts as soon as he's old enough; Alex too. DH went all the way to Eagle scout, and has every intention/plan to be a scout leader from the start. He actually volunteered as a scout leader when he was in the Air Force, before we even had kids!

Both boys are registered for Soccer already. I'm not sure Alex will really get into it, but we wanted to give him the opportunity to try it out.

I want Abby to do Girl Scouts- my mom was our troop leader growing up. Right now she is doing soccer and her school starts soo early (7am pick up at the bus stop and gets home at 230) so she's really been dragging trying to get used to this new schedule.

Daisy? I think thats an American thing.
Travis was in scouts for a few years, I want Ben to do it too, but not yet. for now I feel like he can only handle 1 activity and have the free playtime he needs. He is doing bowling right now- way too cute1 his team has little shirts and are called the small fries

post a picture of him in his bowling shirt, please please! I bet it's adorable!!

I know here Daisie's is just what they call kindergarteners in girl scouts. Then they are Brownies starting in 1st grade (at least back when I was in school!)

We decided to hold off on it for this year - we may have her do it next year. I'm still interested in it, but I don't want all her free time to be scheduled.

Those of you doing it - post sometime and let us know how they like it and what they do!
