Sometimes, but it's completely normal, so I don't worry about it.

Troy still flip flops b and d and writes some numbers backwards, as well as J, lower case a and s

Peyton writes a lot of letters backwards. He will also write the word backwards but the letters correctly. I was concerned about it but did some reading and it is normal.
I remember writing the S in my name backwards into the first grade.

Ben has never done that, but Daniel flips b and d - A LOT!! It's normal. I wouldn't worry about it.

it doesn't make much sence. She flips everything when writing it. It's like it doesn't form right in her head. Even verbally. If I say what does 13 look like, and will say 13. If I say what does 31 look like, she says 13.
She gets concept though. So if I have 15 things and she can count them and say 15, she just can't write it. so frustrating!

If you show her a 31, does she say 31 or 13? If she knows the numbers and she's just flipping it around when she writes them or says them verbally, maybe you can get her into the habit of writing down the number and then reading it back so she can catch her own mistake?
Initially, I thought you meant she was writing the actual letters/numbers backwards (like d/b and that sort of thing), not confusing place value.

she does both!! If I say what does 31 look like? she will say 13. And write 13 as well. Same with if I say write 15, she will write 51. I guess it's normal but frustrating. It almost seems like dysgraphia, but I doubt it.
I found some work books for her at Barnes and Nobles that are sight words. She knows most of the words but it let's her practice writing them down. She did good in the that. I am hoping it willjust click. ANd yes she gets b's d's and p's and q's confused, which I know is normal but uhg! Bless you homeschoolers. YTa'll have so much patineence and endurance!

I have read that is normal. Peyton wrote mommy on a piece of paper and it showed "ymmom" I was concerned about dyslexia.
Here is an expert answer to this question by a doctor.

Yeah, dyslexia and/or dyscalculia might be the culprit, but it's not something I'd want to rush into diagnosing for a couple more years. Give her time. It really is normal at this age.
