I know some of you are on FB so I wil lmake this short. just very proud of my little monkey Nichole!

Last Monday we were sent home just a basic, everyone gets, kinda thing about GT at our school. They call it the ACCEL program here. Anyways just a general all 2nd graders take the test kinda thing. Then it said that they were taking referrals from parents for Kindergartners. I am not sure of the benefits would be at this age and grade so i sent just a quick note to her teacher, who is GT certified and just asked her what her opinion of GT was for kids at this age. Nichole is very smart but she is not skip a grade smart, just above average smart if that makes sense.
I didn't hear back from the teacher which is weird, she usually responds right away. the next day, while Nichole was in school, I got a phone call from the GT counselor. To get started in the GT program, the child has to have teacher referral, parent referral and then they have to pass the test. According to the teacher only 5% are GT or whatever....Anyways, she said that Nichole's teacher had already referred nichole to be tested!! I felt so proud that others were seeing that she is a smart girl and not just mom thinks her kid is smart, cuz well dont' we all! lol

So I guess Nichole is not being tested for it. I think she started the IQ part yesterday. Not sure though. She told me a teacher took her out of class with 3 other kids in her classroom to "take a test" she said only the 4 of them went. She said he asked her questions like "What takes longer brushing your teeth or eating dinner?" She couldn't remember anything else because well.. "I don't remember" is popular around here when it comes to school. But that's my guess.
