Valerie - Yeah, I'd be upset, too. There should be something more than art coming home each day/week!
Nicole - I need the PW for the private subforum so I can go into more detail about our past week's testing, etc.
As for school - We're starting our spring semester tomorrow:
Bible - 5th grade patriarchal age study (early OT books)
Writing - 4 days a week it's just cursive handwriting practice, one day a week it's either occupational therapy homework and/or letter-writing to penpal(s)
Math - 3 days a week we're still working on 2nd-3rd grade basic math skills, and 2 days a week (starting this semester), we're learning strategy games to work on his problem solving skills before heading into middle school math in about 12-18 mos. (Quirkle, Chess, Triominoes, Risk, Blokus, etc.)
English - Same old, same old. 5th grade textbook.
Latin - he's halfway through a 3 year elementary curriculum (4-6th grades). We'll do elementary greek when he's finished with this, and then go back to high school latin when he's old enough to compete
Science - just finished elementary anatomy, starting elementary botany this semester (it's a K-6 curriculum, adaptable to any grade level, so we'll go back and do these more in depth before middle school. He's on the last book of a 6 book series including 3 zoologies and astronomy as well)
History - book 2 of 4... he did ancient history last year, and he's halfway through middle ages this year... renaissance next year up to modern by the end of the next year... it's a cyclical series for K-12 that we'll use again in much more depth for two more cycles
Geography - picking up where we left off last summer learning names of all the countries in the world through songs and mapping... also learning a limited number of interesting facts about different regions, all the major oceanic names, and states/capitals (again... he learned those a few years ago but has forgotten some of them)
Art - working on a curriculum that specifically deals with motor skills, since he's struggling there
Spelling - 7th grade - flying through a comprehensive adult curriculum stopping to work on anything he misses... he's a natural speller, so we only do this a couple days a week
Music - review of music theory... wanted to start piano this semester, but he's still not able to isolate his fingers yet, so he can't type or play an instrument yet... one more year, perhaps?
Reading - working very hard on comprehension & inference, because those are lacking with his Asperger's diagnosis
Other - bowling league on tuesdays, therapy on wed/thur, and PE (*ahem* xbox/kinect with friends *ahem*) on fridays
