this may be a strange request but DH and I have been talking alot lately about our next. We REALLY want a girl...plus if I don't get some more estrogen around h ere to balance out all this testosterone fueled burping and farting I'm going to go insane! haha
So we will most likely start TTC in Sept. and although I know nothins is really "proven " to work we want to have some fun with this. JM wasn't planned for DH and Ty wasn't planned with us so we are really looking foward to REALLY trying and we want to test out all the methods to "guarentee" a girl. So spill em....what have you heard does the trick? lis anything...positions, foods to eat, times of the month...I want them all!! lol
also did anyone of you try any of these methods and actually end up with a girl?!?!
We didn't try any methods, and we had a boy. I definitely want a girl next, so I'm all for trying anything out for fun also! (but not for 2 years or so!)
The only thing I have really heard about was the Chinese predictor calendar. But here are a few websites that might give you more insight. Good Luck!!!!
i have heard that girl sperm lives longer..for instance..have sex a few days before your due to ovulate...i guess it's true in ways because with both my boys, i concieved the day of or after with my boys
good luck casey!! we are waiting until 2010 to ttc and i would love a girl as well

Ditto to this. Actually my OB doctor told me a long time ago that male sperm are fast and stronger (on average I assume), so if you are ovulating you are more likely to have a boy. Girl sperm may be slower, but live longer, so as Danielle said, a day or two before ovulation would increase your chances for a girl.
I don't know how true this is, but as I said, I heard it from my doctor.
Here is a good one for you......have sex, get in a skidoo accident, ovulate 3 days later, and you are guarenteed to have a girl! Well, thats how it worked for us anyways....
I also heard the girl sperm are slower but last longer, and the boys are faster and stronger, but dont live as long. We had sex about 3-4 days before i Oed. Then about 2-3 weeks later, i find out i was pregnant, and it miraculasly (sp?) happened the week we had our accident, which we KNOW 100% that we done it BEFORE the accident, but i Od AFTER the accident. Since we were TTC for 18 months, i am convinced that the accident 'knocked' something in place!
I remebered reading about the chinese gender predictor. Thanks for the links..I'l check them out later. Looks like we will definitely try the couple dys before o'ing. SO I guess that means I should start really charting soon huh? Looks like I have more to look into with that!

haha.. I wouldn't follow that test, or any other test. Or just don't get your hopes up. When I did the chinese gender test, it said I was having a boy.. I also did the ring test and it said boy.. lol And the fetal heart rate said 140 and below is suppose to be a boy and Adriana's base line heart rate was 120bpm.. lol
You should be nagging your DH because it's him that decides if your going to have a boy or a girl..
Have fun and I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.. {{THINK PINK}}
there are also supposed to be certain things you and hubby can eat to improve your chances of a girl or boy. For u, it changes the acidity of the ph in your cervical mucous, making it easier for whichever sperm to travel. There is tons of info out there!

I heard the same thing....
I really couldn't tell you what we differently the first two times as compared to the last two..... We never really got an opportunity to TRY anything. The first three weren't planned and Jaden was conceived as soon as we decided to have a fourth
I know people who actually studied and read books about chosing the sex of the baby...with success. (fluke?? who knows....)
I'm going to have to do some serious looking into it. I figure if we want a girl and are actually going to TTC we might as well give it our all!!
I'll get DH on board with his end too. He says we are done at 3...I could possibly go for 4. Maybe I'll make a deal with him that if the next one is a girl then we will really be done...if its another boy we'll have to go one more round. lol I bet he'll read every book and eat/do whatever it says to make a girl! hahah
I don't make boys! I don't think anyone in my family does! My grandfather had 4 girls... 9 granddaughters and 5 great-granddaughters. I guess I could lend you an egg?
And I know, I know... the men decide the sex... but it's OUR eggs that decide which little spermy comes in! My eggs like the X chromosome!

DITTO!!!
I read the same thing, but again.....we were trying for a boy originally and got a girl....so just go with it
Plus, we have only one boy cousin in my family and all my cousins that have babies have had girls....I don't think we make boys either Amber
