To not focus their eyes?

I was hanging out with my friend Catey today and she has a niece that's a little over 2 months old and the entire time I was their her eyes didn't focus at all. Not on me when I went over to coo at her or at her mom when she was being fed... and I definitely remember that Jay was focusing on my face by 2 months.

So is it normal for babies to let their eyes roll around or should I bring it up with Catey to maybe ask her sister?

I am not 100% sure. I do remember Chloe focusing and moving her eyes around.

My oldest son he didn't at 2 months and thats how I began to suspect he had a neuro issue.

But every baby is different..

Not sure what the exact norm is but I think there should be some kind of focus, I know Irelyn could focus on me a lot younger than that.

It might be worth mentioning. I am pretty sure both my girls were focusing earlier than that.

It is something the doctor will ask but if she herself isn't aware that she's not focusing then it won't get found (if there is a problem) as early. There are many many reasons why some babies don't focus and some of them can be dangerous. It wouldn't hurt to mention it. I know you totally would but just a reminder of how sensitive new moms are. Be very tactful when mentioning this. She'll immediately go into protective mother mode and think you are comparing your kid to hers and get defensive. It's always worth mentioning to the doctor. They can at the least put her and your minds at ease.

Yeah I personally wouldn't bring it up with her. I got the vibe off her she didn't like me. I will mention it to Catey though and have her bring it up with her sister or with her parents to talk to her sister about it.

Thanks girls.
