I'm basically being given until the 20th (Monday) to go into labour on my own or else my OB is going to schedule a c-section (even though my due date isn't until the 23rd - they are concerned the baby is going to be too big since Dominic was 9lbs and 10 days early ). I don't want another c-section and hate that my dr is so anti-vbac. The big baby thing is a load of crap. So if I can just go into labour on my own before then, that would make things a whole lot easier.

Yikes, you are way tougher than I.
I do hope that you get what you want though. Whatever happens, I just hope that you and baby are healthy.

Good luck! I hope that you go into labor soon. Have you tired walking or sex? I hear that's supposed to help.

Castor Oil!
ETA
Okay, apparently castor oil is a very bad idea:
Natural Ways to Induce Labor
If the medical methods of jump starting labor sound a bit off putting, there are a number of home remedies for inducing labor naturally when you are past your due date. But remember: none of these remedies will start labor unless you have already begun to dilate. However, some methods can help you to tone and soften your uterus.
1. Eat spicy foods or pineapple.
2. Go for a walk or march up some stairs. This is thought to bring on labor because of the pressure of the baby's head pressing down on your cervix. At the very least, walking can help get your baby into a better position for labor.
3. Have sex. A favorite for many pregnant women, sex can help by releasing a hormone called oxytocin, which causes the uterus to contract. Additionally, semen contains a substance known as prostaglandins, which will help soften the cervix.
4. Nipple stimulation. For those who find sex just too uncomfortable right now, nipple stimulation may be a better choice. It helps to bring on labor in much the same way sex does, by releasing oxytocin. However, this method may take a bit more effort than sex to start labor.
5. Stretching of the uterine opening membranes. This can be done by your doctor or midwife and has been found to increase the chances of labor starting within 48 hours.
6. Complementary therapies. Acupuncture, massage, teas, herbs and homeopathic remedies can be helpful when it comes to inducing labor. However, make sure you go to a licensed practitioner who has experience treating pregnant women.
One home remedy that is often recommended to pregnant women is castor oil taken either alone or with orange juice. While some women swear by this method, many experts and women who have tried it will strongly advise you against it. Castor oil may or may not bring on labor but it will definitely make you nauseous, cause you to vomit, have diarrhea and suffer severe cramps so just steer clear of this home remedy.

I don't recommend castor oil - it can dehydrate you, and cause the baby to go into distress. Lots of walking, and unprotected sex. Seminal fluid has prostaglandins in it that can help to soften the cervix. Also, if you've been doing exercise thru-out your pregnancy, increasing the amount a bit can help too. Good luck and hope you have a smooth labor/delivery!

I used castor oil on my first, and it worked like a charm!I was 5 days over when i took it. Quick easy labor! No "runs", cramping, vomiting, nothing with him at all! I think it works different for everyone. I also agree, its a use at your own risk sort of deal.
Honestly, if you want your vbac, i would refuse the section. Just becuase Dominic was a big baby doesn't mean this one will be too. I understand why you so badly want a vbac, and honestly i would too. I had my first by natural vaginal delivery, and Jorja was a section. I would NEVER willingly choose a section over a vaginal. I would have a baby vaginally everyday for a year then have 1 section. I think your body will go into labor on its own at some point, i would just wait it out. And if the time comes, i would ask for an induction first, before saying yes to the section. If it comes down to it, and you have to have a section in the end, then at least you know you tried to deliver vaginally. Your body, your baby, refuse the section!
ETA: Good Luck, can't wait to hear what your little surprise is! KUP!

Have they done an ultrasound recently to gauge babies size? As far as refusing a c - section, it all comes down to how much you trust your Dr to do what's best for the baby. If he feels the baby is going to be big, chances are he's right. The last thing you want is for the baby to get stuck in the vaginal canal and wind up in distress, which will lead to an emergency c -section and potential harm to the baby. I think v-bacs can be a good thing, but in the end, having a healthy baby is really all that matters. As far as an induction, they don't usually induce for a v-bac because of the increased potential for a ruptured uterus. I've had 3 c-sections, and yeah, they are no walk in the park, but it's also not the worst thing someone can go thru. Lots of good labor vibes your way!

I'll probably skip the castor oil! I think I've tried every other one of those methods - didn't know about pineapple though. Will try that!

When I found out I had to have a csection with Dominic I was pretty devastated. I really had my heart set on a vaginal birth so it was never really a question in my mind to try for a vbac this time around. And yes - it DOES feel like yesterday I found out I was pregnant!! This time around it flew by WAY too fast.

I'm so happy the concern is that baby might be too big considering we were so afraid it wouldn't grow properly with the 2 vessel cord. I've been going for u/s's every month and the baby has stayed in the 50-75th percentile the whole time.

Unfortunately I really don't trust my dr. She has already told me a lot of things that just aren't based on any fact. That's what is making this so frustrating.
