So Allison has been health as can be for about 6 months. No colds, no nothing. I great change from her first year. Anyways, she now has a nasty cold. The usual: sneezing every 5 seconds, lots of snot (clear snot so far), and she now has a fever of 101. While I know it's not really serious to take her to a doctor, I do have a problem!

Tomorrow we are supposed to drive to Houston for a fun weekend with my best friend, her husband and their baby (5 months old). I haven't seen her in seriously about 18 months and we are running out of opportunities since we are leaving the state the last week in June. do you think I should put it off to another weekend? Should Allie be around a 5 month old at ALL whne she has a fever and cold? I don't know if we should cancel or not. I know it's probably obvious but i want to know waht YOU would do.

I would most definitely put it off, especially since she has a fever. I would be really upset if someone brought their sick children around my kids. Alli probably won't feel like doing much either so I'd just take it easy. Poor little thing, I hope she starts to feeling better.

I would put it off because of the fever... a 5 month old with a nasty cold is no fun at all... I'm sure your friend will be very greatful that you are so considerate!

her fever is gone (w/ out any meds). I told my friend and she said if she gets a fever at all again then we will put it off. I am sure we probably will end up doing that.

the other girls about the fever. If the fever is gone I might just make sure she's de-germed when she's near the baby. Hand sanitizer is a wonderful thing!

It could be a temporary thing. If she is still feeling icky I would call it off. If not, you could try to keep your distance and give her some motrin and see how she is doing?

Is it possible that her canines are coming in? That would cause most of the symtoms...and she wouldn't be contagious if it's her teeth. Good luck.
